Nate Fillers Presents: “My Trip to the Emergency Room”

It’s a full house on this episode of Hardly Focused! You know the drill; if you haven’t done so already, subscribe to Hardly Focused on your favorite podcast app, and on YouTube. Buy yourself some Hardly Focused merch while you’re at it, and support your favorite podcast from Boston!

Acc joins Jack and Mike, filling in for Nate… who is also present! Nate makes the last-second decision to join the crew, after spending a fun-filled night in the emergency room. He spends this segment regaling his ER experience in this COVID climate. Thankfully Nate is fine, and COVID-free!

    Rudy Giuliani Farts Everywhere

Political news continues to be number two next to the coronavirus pandemic. Up next is the electoral college vote, which will cement Grandpa Joe Biden’s victory as President of the Union. The crew discuss whether or not Biden could lose the electoral college vote, despite winning both the popular election and electoral votes by state.

Meanwhile, Ronald Thump’s attorney Rudy Ghoul-iani keeps coming with the hits. First it was the Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference, then it was the melting hair dye incident. Now it’s farting; lots of farting. Jack has the audio, including the enhanced sound in case Rudy’s tooties can’t be heard the first time.

There’s No Reason Right Now to Buy a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X

This segment exemplifies why this podcast is called “Hardly Focused.” There is discussion planned around President Danny Tramp talking about “hydrosonic” missiles at a recent Georgia rally. Also planned is MyPillow CEO Mike Liddell attempting to instill confidence in Trump’s continued presidency.

Instead, Acc, Jack, Mike and Nate talk about video games! Jack has no plans to upgrade to a new console any time soon, especially considering they are almost impossible to find in stores. Meanwhile, patient gamer Mike Tarara is slowly but surely making his way through Witcher 3. Eventually he’ll give Cyberpunk 2077 a go… if it ever comes out.

Wear a mask, and wash your hands – especially after you fart!

  • Episode 481: Brains

Part One: Rudy Guiliani’s Brains Seep Out of His Head!

Jack, Mike, and Nate here for this episode of Hardly Focused! Find Hardly Focused on your favorite podcast app, and on YouTube. Don’t forget to buy a shirt, and subscribe to Nate’s Sbassbear Comedy channel on the ‘Tube!

It’s an interesting Thanksgiving weekend, thanks to COVID-19. That didn’t stop Jack, Mike, and Nate from enjoying the holiday and spending it with their respective families. Let’s see how the Union fares over the coming days with infection rates.

Elsewhere, Rudy Ghoul-iani apparently has a radio show on 77 WABC in New York City. A chap by the name of Chris James – from Not Even a Show on YouTube – prank calls Rudy’s po’gram, asking about the black goo seeping from his head. Rudy tries to have fun with it; the keyword is “tries.”

Part Two: Florida Man Presents – A Pants-off Dance-off at Wawa!

This portion of Hardly Focused introduces a whole segment dedicated to Florida Man! In Southern Florida, a brawl inside a Wawa was filmed, featuring a severe lack of pants and some fantastic commentary from the man behind the camera. Jack points out during this segment that convenience stores have odd names – Wawa, Kum & Go, etc.

Part Three: How Many Times Has Joe Biden Won the Election?

Another week, another victory for President Joe Biden. Seriously, how many times can one man win an election? A Trump-financed vote recount in Wisconsin not only cements Biden’s win, but yields additional votes for him previously not counted!

Meanwhile, Mike educates Jack on the concept of a Presidential pardon. Needing shapes and colors to help him accomplish simple tasks, Jack equates pardons to thane-status in Skyrim. Hey, as Todd Howard famously said, “It just works!”

  • Episode 480: Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in My Hand

Part One: Train is a Terrible Band

This episode begins with some reminiscing. Back in high school, a girl pushed Fro through a classroom wall. In trying to allude to the girl’s name, Jack goes on a rant about the band Train. You might remember Train’s music from the PA system at your local supermarket.

Meanwhile, it’s the 30th anniversary of the release of Super Mario World. Always the Sega fanboy, Jack asks the room which of the Super Mario 3D All Stars is better – Sunshine, or Galaxy? Also always the king of bad decisions, Jack regales the time he speed-ran through Sonic 3 & Knuckles using Tails.

Continuing a holiday tradition from the Talk Radio Meltdown days, Jack features his favorite Thanksgiving audio – “Psycho Kid Ruins Thanksgiving.” This clip is the Alice’s Restaurant of YouTube!

Part Two: We Watch “All Gas No Brakes” at a Proud Boys Rally

These segments always provide a gold mine for audio. Jack plays for Fro and Nate a recent installment from the All Gas No Brakes channel on YouTube. Host Andrew Callaghan attends a Proud Boys rally in Portland, Oregon. It goes about as well as one should expect.

(As Fro points out, it takes an hour to go through a seven-minute long YouTube video…)

Part Three: That One Song by Primitive Radio Gods

This segment stars with Fro ranting about “flat Earthers” and the cult known as Scientology. Jack has no idea that John Travolta is among the Hollywood crazies who believe in this malarkey. Jack also has no idea why anyone – famous or not – would live in the Hollywood hills.

Moving on, Jack asks if anyone has watched the Animaniacs reboot on Hulu. Discussing segments from the show’s original run leads Fro to tell a story involving his bicycle and a crazy kid in his neighborhood, which nearly kills Jack in laughter. “Is it hot in here, or is it just me?”

Concluding this episode, Jack presents two stories for “How Fucking Dumb Are You?” The band Trapt continues to exist, this time getting their Facebook account deleted for a Proud Boys-related post. In keeping with this podcast’s theme of never staying on-topic, this segues into Jack discussing ridiculously long song and album titles.

Elsewhere, in Russia, Darwinism strikes again as local buffoons end up in hospital for drinking hand sanitizer. Fro goes off about hand sanitizer, bringing this episode to a riveting end. On that note, subscribe to Nate’s channel on YouTube, and wear a damn face mask!
