Jack, Mike, and Nate here for this installment of Hardly Focused! Don’t forget, this fine program can be heard on ALL the podcast apps – Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more. Just search for “Hardly Focused!”
To the shock of everyone in the studio, prior to recording Jack was watching the Denver Broncos crush the New England Patriots. Jack admits the only sport he’s into is bowling. This leads Jack and Mike to discuss candlepin bowling, a type of bowling found largely in New England.
Hey Boston-folk – remember Candlepin Bowling on Channel 5? Saturday mornings used to be great.
Election Day in the union is just weeks away! Jack fires off this segment by discussing the “new” episode of the West Wing, which is filled with “get out and vote” messaging. Find “A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote” on HBO Max!
On that note, the group discusses the recent, rivalling Town Halls between Grandpa Joe Biden and Premier Ronald Thump. They speculate Tramp is fuming over losing the ratings battle to Biden, despite having his Town Hall broadcast on three networks. Our “president” also fails at trolling his Twitter followers.
Meanwhile, Mike schools the room on “doom scrolling.” Don’t know what that is? During this heavily political climate, simply open Twitter or Facebook and scroll – boom, doom scrolling.
Jack begins this segment with the intention of shifting gears away from politics. Heading to Baton Rogue, a man is facing obscenity charges after being caught masturbating in his truck. His defense? “Air drumming.”
Appropriately, this topic leads Jack to divulge the awkward first time he bought condoms. Nate also has an awkward “first time buying” story, and it has absolutely nothing to do with sex. Nate = 1, Jack = 0.
Wrapping up this episode, Jack features audio of Paulette Dale, the woman who complimented Danny Tramp’s smile during his Town Hall. Shockingly, despite her compliments, Dale is voting for Biden in this election. Mike hypothesizes that she tried to troll him, and botched the delivery.
Back up in your ass with the resurrection.

On to business, the music industry continues to reel in from the passing of rock guitar god, Eddie Van Halen. Ever the defensive Van Hagar fan, Jack eulogizes his favorite musician while noting that Eddie and Sammy Hagar finally buried the hatchet. Nate and Fro also share their thoughts on Van Halen’s legacy and impact on modern music.
Part Two: “Don’t be afraid! I bring you love!”
In this segment, Jack, Fro, and Nate discuss the President Danny Tramp’s recent COVID-19 diagnosis, and what that means for the upcoming election. Tramp claims to be “immune” to the virus, is Superman, and also boasts a “protective glow.” In other words, Thump is literally Mr. Burns from “The Springfield Files” episode of The Simpsons.
Elsewhere, Boston-native Bill Burr sparks controversy with his appearance on Saturday Night Live. Jack features audio from Burr’s monologue, noting that it’s nothing more than social commentary. Somehow, this transitions into a discussion about bidets and bacteria-laden butt wipes. One might argue that this discussion is… Hardly Focused, available to enjoy on your favorite podcast app!
See you next time, folks!

It’s not all about politics, for crazy things are happening elsewhere in the union. To start, international treasure Rick Moranis is recovering after being randomly sucker punched in New York City. Upon breaking that down, Jack hypothesizes that Moranis will appear in the new Ghostbusters, despite claims of the contrary.
Meanwhile, if searching for a good hypnotist, then avoid New Jersey. A hypnotist there included in his services prostate exams; he is now facing sexual assault charges.
“Hey Peter… watch out for your corn hole, bud.“
Before everyone in Trump’s camp caught COVID, the Presidential debate was the talk of the nation. “Debate” is possibly the wrong word; it was more like a poorly contained schoolyard tussle. At least we got out of it some great quotes from future president, “Grandpa” Joe Biden.
Meanwhile, Americans are clamoring to learn how to pack up and move north. It’s not a new mindset; this happens every election. Still, free healthcare, hockey, and ample maple syrup sounds mighty fine.
“Give yer balls a tug.”
Jack, Mike, and Nate presenting this episode of Hardly Focused, recapping a beyond-bonkers week. First and foremost, find Hardly Focused on the social medias – Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! Also, support Boston’s most mediocre podcast by purchasing some Hardly Focused merch. As Jack shows in this episode, the “family friendly” shirts look great!
With just a month until Election Day, the news this past week is largely political. President Danny Tramp, his once-lovely looking wife, and pretty much everyone in his camp has COVID-19. This topic has certainly brought out the worst of social media.
But ain’t karma a bitch?
