Hardly Focused

Writer Eddie Brophy is an alumnus of 107.3 WAAF, along with Jack. While most of New England remembers the on-air talent like Kevin Barbare, they might not be aware of the behind-the-scenes folks like Jack and Eddie. Jack discusses with Eddie their memories of WAAF, including the “Last Night On-Air” and the time Jack knocked the radio station’s transmitter offline.

Kevin Barbare (and daughter Lola!) joins Jack and Mike for part of this segment. Quick stories about WAAF are shared, including the time morning show producer Spaz had a run-in with the United States Secret Service.

Post-Kevin, Jack and Mike brush off their favorite segment, “How Fucking Dumb Are You?” Featured in this segment are stories out of Iowa and Florida, respectively. Continuing the discussion of the wildfires, the west coast currently has the worst air quality on the planet. Did anyone have this on their 2020 bingo sheet/drinking game?

Elsewhere, the current state of the world does not mix well with remembering the events of September 11, 2001. Thanks to the power of internet, #allbuildingsmatter was trending on Twitter the day prior to this recording. Semi-related to that, Jack features audio of the 9/11 ATC/NORAD tapes, which ultimately robbed him of meaningful sleep.

Wrapping this one up, Jack plays for the room audio of a chap speaking his mind on boneless chicken wings. This is the quality content we need right now. We also need prep sheets!
