In your walk with Christ, do you know the power that you have through the cross? Do you know that when Jesus rose from the dead it wasn’t just for a cool story? In today’s message, Pastor Jeff wants you to know that you have unlimited power through God’s perfect grace. When you let Him into your heart, you inherited His power from defeating death. Don’t take this potential for granted and make a difference in the lives of others around. Stop being stagnant and be a vessel for God’s love.
Do you know where you stand in eternity? When you’ve moved on from this world, where are you headed and what do you plan on bringing with you? In today’s message, Pastor Jeff wants you to know that if you want to be saved from your past and move on from your mistakes, give your heart to Jesus. Everything on this earth will be dead and gone someday, but God’s grace will always remain. Stop wasting your time on lies that will fade away and invest in what matters most—eternity with Jesus.
You should always be quick to forgive your neighbor when they sin against you. Why is it so important to forgive? Pastor Jeff teaches today that a spirit of unforgiveness can fester, and over time it’ll take root in your soul and cause you to become bitter towards those around you. By swallowing your pride and forgiving those who have wronged you, you make the mature decision to no longer live in anger, but to live in forgiveness. You should forgive others just as Christ has forgiven you.
Have you ever tried to wash your hands with hot water but the water was too hot? Your instincts kick in and you flinch away from the heat. But once you add in cold water, the temperature becomes more bearable. Pastor Jeff teaches you today that having too hot of a tone of voice can cause people to react in anger, but if you take the time to cool your emotions and speak in a calm tone, you can diffuse a tense situation and have a mature conversation. It’s all about controlling your feelings.
One tactic that is common when people get into conflict is to try to put the other person under an avalanche of arguments, to bury them in things so that they have no choice but to give up. Oftentimes both sides will attempt to overwhelm each other, and the argument will pivot away from the root disagreement. Pastor Jeff reminds you today to stay focused, and address the original issue with patience and love. Once you start an avalanche, you may not be able to stop it before someone gets hurt.
Our human response to conflict is to immediately get on the defensive and try to win the argument at any cost. It’s our survival instinct kicking in. But Pastor Jeff teaches us today that God’s will is for us to set aside our basic instincts and instead, choose the righteous path; to slow down and take the time to think before diving into an argument with someone. It takes time and patience to re-train our minds, but it will always be worth the effort. Reconciliation is a more desirable outcome than conflict.
Do you believe in absolute truth? Is there anything that you can trust in - to be 100% true? Well, the Word of God is the only thing that meets that criteria. Anything else you read or hear is subject to the corruption of sinful thoughts and intentions. Pastor Jeff reminds you today to trust in God’s Word over any other teaching you hear, because it’s impossible to separate the most well-intentioned teachers from their sinful nature. Only Jesus, who didn’t inherit the burden of sin, is perfectly trustworthy.
When you accepted Jesus into your heart, did you realize that it’s not all up to Him? Have you been on the sidelines, waiting for God to call your number? Or maybe you’re in the game ignoring God when He pulls out you? Today in his message, Pastor Jeff explains that if you want to grow in your connection with God, you need to be intentional about putting in the work. No, God doesn’t need you to help with His plans, instead, He simply needs you to show initiative. Set a fire for the sake of God’s gospel.
In your faith journey, do you let faith guide your path? Do you listen to God’s calling for your life and spring into action? Or do you let it pass you by? Today in his message, Pastor Jeff wants you to know that you need to always be on call for the cause of God’s kingdom. If you’re not living out the plan that He has in store for you, you’re missing massive growth in your relationship with Him. Stay true to the great commission and serve the Lord relentlessly. Be a beacon of change for God’s Kingdom.
One of the ways that New Age belief systems draw in Christians is their use of Christian language. Even the Jehovah’s Witnesses worship the concept of Jesus, yet change things about His nature that contradict Scripture. Pastor Jeff teaches today that it is important for believers to pay attention to the details if they’re uncertain about a teaching they’re hearing. Little things like Jesus being a created being may seem insignificant, but they lead people down a path that leads away from God’s truth.
