You have choice in the quiet moments AND the hard, stressful moments, to pause, and respond appropriately and powerfully.
In this episode I share what exactly may be happening when you are reacting to your environment based on a past story. Strong reactions are showing signs of being ‘triggered’ by a situation or individual and need attention NOW to disrupt your reactivity.
(This is why I work with my clients using Nervous System Retraining techniques, because stories from the past hold a memory of the emotion we felt and energy that is tied to that memory is held in the body. Creating new neural pathways works fast when you have your whole body on board.)
You will become aware of the voices that have typically led you, and decide who you are listening to.
As you practice and develop this muscle you will begin to see change in front of you as you respond rather than aggressively, defensively, react.
During the pause you can begin to ask clarifying questions like,
““Is this a reflection of how I feel on the inside?”
“Is someone else's ‘lack of patience’ a mirror into how impatient I am being with myself, my goals, finding my love, landing the job, getting a deal come through”
“Is this a reminder of what I need to see or hear for myself?”
Connecting inwardly during the pause is a way of generating a peaceful and powerful response that you can stand behind, and not feel the heavy guilt that can weigh on your heart.
Use this episode to apply the practice of a pause during the meditative visualization I walk you through.
Allow this to be a further signal to initiate the pause regularly, and be at peace in your mind and body.
