He’s a huge inspiration to fitness enthusiasts, and he’s a passionate supporter of animal rights.

Today’s guest, Michael Damian, is a highly popular and beloved, multi-award-winning actor, singer, writer, director and producer who’s conquered every medium in the entertainment industry. 

He is of course a superstar in the world of daytime television for his iconic portrayal since 1981 of “Danny Romalotti” on America’s number 1 soap opera, “The Young And The Restless”, for which he’s won 2 Young Artist Awards as well as a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination.  

And we also remember him as “Fly Man” on the hit TV sitcom, “The Facts Of Life”. As a singer and recording artist, he had 8 Top 40 hits and multiple gold records, including his #1 hit song, “Rock On”, and a string of other hits including “She Did It”, “Cover of Love”, “Straight From my Heart”, “What a Price to Pay”, and one of my all-time favourites, “Was it Nothing at all”, which won him a BMI Songwriting Award. And I also have to mention his beautiful duet with Sharon Hendrix, “Bring Back the Christmas Card”. And of course, we all remember his voice from the theme song to the hit TV show, “Saved by the Bell”.  

On the stage, he broke box office records on Broadway and in Los Angeles when he starred in the 1993 revival of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", and his work on the cast album earned him a Grammy Award nomination. 

Behind the camera, our guest, together with his brilliant wife, Janeen, has written a dozen movies, which he has gone on to produce and direct, including “High Strung”, “High Strung Free Dance”, “Marley & Me: The Puppy Years”, “Hot Tamale”, “Moondance Alexander”, “The Sweeter Side Of Life” and “Love By Design”, all of which have won a whole slew of prestigious film festival awards. He and Janeen have also brought us some wonderful holiday movies including “A Princess For Christmas”, “The Christmas Waltz”, “Much Ado About Christmas” and “Paris Christmas Waltz”.  And their brand new movie, “The Wrong Paris”, is coming to Netflix on September 12.

Our guest is also a highly accomplished playwright, having had his plays developed and produced by some of the most prestigious theatre companies in the world.  And as an actor in the theatre, he’s appeared onstage in dozens of celebrated theatrical productions throughout America, in London’s West End and at the Edinburgh Festival, and for his work onstage, he’s received the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Award and 3 Drama-Logue Awards. He also wrote and performed his intensely personal one-man play, “Leave Your Fears Here”, which recounts his beloved son's struggle with and ultimate recovery from brain cancer.

Today’s guest, Charlene, is a popular singer, songwriter, record producer and author who was the first white female singer to be signed to the Motown label. She’s been immortalized for her hugely popular, worldwide mega-hit song, “I’ve Never Been to Me”, which was originally released in 1977, and then took the world by storm in 1982. And THEN, the song had another resurgence in popularity in 1994 when it was featured in the terrific movie, “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”. Our guest has released 6 albums, entitled, “Charlene”, “Songs of Love”, “Used to Be”, “I’ve Never Been to Me”, “The Sky is the Limit”, and “Hit and Run Lover”. Some of her other hit singles from back in the 70s and 80s are “It Ain’t Easy Comin’ Down”, “Freddie”, “Hungry”, “Used to Be”, “I Want to Go Back There Again” and “We’re Both in Love With You”. She appeared in the movie, “The Last Dragon”, in which she sang her hit single, “Fire”. Her song, “It Ain’t Easy Comin’ Down” was featured in the movie, “The Last American Virgin”. And her song “I’ve Never Been to Me” has been featured not only in “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” but in over a dozen other movies and TV shows including “Me Without You”, “This is Us”, “You Were Never Really Here”, “The Simpsons” and “The Flight Attendant”.  

In recent years, our guest has been recording under her actual name, “Charlene Oliver”, and she’s released some great dance hits like “Heard You on the Radio”, “Destiny”, “Fairytale Life”, “California Dreamin’”, “Broken Woman”, “Emotional Scars”, “Why Can’t Time Stand Still”, and a fabulous dance version of her classic hit song, “I’ve Never Been to Me”.  Our guest has also written 3 books: a memoir called “I’ve Never Been to Me”, a children’s book called “The Life and Tails of Herman the Worm”, and a highly compelling Holocaust novel called “Orphan Train”.

Today’s guest, Tom Santopietro, making his 5th appearance on our show, is a renowned author whose books about the entertainment world are as insightful, entertaining and compelling as the iconic superstars and movies he writes about.  

He’s written 8 bestselling books, including “The Sound of Music Story”, “The Godfather Effect: Changing Hollywood, America and Me”, “The Importance of Being Barbra”, and “Barbara Cook: Then and Now”.  His first appearance on our show was to discuss his fascinating book, “Considering Doris Day”, which is a must-read for every Doris Day fan. He then returned to the show to discuss his groundbreaking book, “Why To Kill a Mockingbird Still Matters”, which provides a brilliant analysis of racism in America, in the context of one of the greatest novels – and movies – of all time.
