  • Hate Watching Twilight Saga: New Moon

    Send us Fan Mail

Can a 109-year-old man trapped in a 17-year-old body honestly fall for an 18-year-old girl and not get arrested? This week, Tony and Dan get down to the heart of the Twilight Saga. We laugh about Taylor Lautner's impressive physique, chuckle over Dan's love for the Twilight Saga, and throw shade at Taylor Swift's failed Twilight cameo attempt. We debate the controversial character of Jacob Black, explore the teenage female fantasy that Twilight caters to, and discuss the romantic tension or lack thereof in the film.

We question Bella's adrenaline junkie lifestyle, Edward's inexplicable presence in her room, and the real versus reel relationships Twilight portrays. We scrutinize the Cullen family, Edward's behavior towards Bella, and his reluctance to turn her into a vampire. We even contemplate Bella's defense of the vampires, the anti-climactic death of the redheaded vampire (what's her name), and Jacob's protective nature despite his disregard for the rules. We also share a laugh over the wolf muffins and Bella's multiple concussions throughout the saga.

In our movie review segment, we exchange thoughts on films like Silo on Apple TV and Hypnotic with Ben Affleck. But don't think we're done with Twilight just yet! We'll be back next week to dissect even more Twilight Saga, navigating the special breed of crazy that it is. So, strap in and join us for the ride. And remember, we'd love to hear your thoughts, so don't forget to drop us a comment or two!

  • Hate Watching Strange Magic

    Send us Fan Mail

Ready to take an animated roller-coaster ride into the fantastical world of Strange Magic? Join Dan and Tony as they delve into the peculiarities, plot holes, and questionable decisions that make this 2015 film a head-scratcher. From its hefty price tag to an oddly chosen soundtrack, we're left wondering what went on in the production meetings.

As we delve deeper into the mystical mayhem of Strange Magic, things get even stranger. We tackle the controversial themes that lurk beneath the film's surface like, which kid's movie teaches that love needs to be forcibly obtained? And why is the Bog King's character design so outlandishly odd? Don't get us started on Sonny the elf. And of course, we can't ignore the convoluted love potion subplot, which seems a weak explanation for sudden romantic feelings. We also mull over the missed opportunity of Kelly Clarkson's song. So, join us as we try to make sense of this jumbled jigsaw of a film, toss around sequel ideas, and devise a new business venture for our lovable Bog King. Tune in to our lively discussion and maybe, just maybe, you might find a strange kind of magic in it!

  • Telekinetic Mayhem: A Deep Dive into Zapped!

    Send us Fan Mail

What happens when a teen sex comedy from the 80s tries to parody a classic horror movie like Carrie? Join us, Dan and Tony, as we analyze the bizarre and confusing cinematic experience that is Zapped! We'll explore the cult following that has emerged around the film, as well as delve into peculiar aspects such as Scott Baio's laboratory, an awkward prom night, and the movie's unsettling treatment of women.

Originally intended to be a spoof of Carrie, Zapped somehow ended up as a telekinesis-focused movie without any other connection to the iconic horror film. We'll discuss how the film changed direction after the success of Porky's, and how Heather Thomas' refusal to go nude led to the use of a body double. Throughout the episode, we'll analyze the unusual cast of characters, strange plot points, and the progression of telekinetic powers in this peculiar piece of 80s cinema.

  • Hate Watching Dumbo

    Send us Fan Mail

Having watched a few of these live action Disney remakes, we are finding that they try to make them about "real" people and take all wonder out of the worlds. So this one follows a family and the trauma of the dad coming home from war missing an arm. A fine thing to make a movie about but not a good jumping off place for a DUMBO movie. Dumbo is just a plot device for this family to come together.

Oh yeah and no songs. And Tim Burton does a bunch of dumb circus stuff.....

    But Dumbo is still cute.

  • Hate Watching Peter Pan & Wendy

    Send us Fan Mail

The whole idea of Neverland is that it is a place where kids would want to go to have fun and adventures. This new movie envisions it as a bleak, cold, inhospitable place. And then there is the acting. Ouch!

This week the boys dig into Peter Pan & Wendy and it is very much NOT Bangarang!

  • Hate Watching Season of the Witch

I blame Game of Thrones. it made a generation of film makers think that they could make fantasy epics. Sadly for the most part they all failed and this is yet another of those failures.  Even Nick Cage can't save this stinker.

Tony hates movies that are all about killing dinosaurs. So he hated this movie. Also its boring and stupid and the dialog is boring and stupid adding to it being boring and stupid. Oh yeah and the two main characters can't even talk to each other, that was a smart choice.
