We are huge fans of Mike Mignola & Hellboy so we were hoping this movie was gonna be better. Sadly it does not measure up to the first two movies. They tried to cram too much into this one and nothing got the time it needed to really work.

It's a magical thing when you wake up in the morning and go outside and it has rained. When I was younger I always paid attention to the weather report since I actually had to go out into the world. Now the weather is just a thing that happens and I only really experience by chance. That has got me thinking about how we go through phases in our lives. We have our TV shows e watch every week until they end and we stop watching them. an experience we can really enjoy just evaporates in an instant. Things just go away. We move on.....

Dark Shadows is another movie in the descent of Tim Burton. This movie lives somewhere between homage and parody and it fails at both. Not funny, not suspenseful, not melodramatic, not interesting but nice looking. And Johnny Depp with pale skin and weird hair.

Hate Watching is the show that talks about writing and acting.

Way back in art school a teacher once asked what it is that we considered art. A painting? A movie? The scribbles of a child on a piece of paper? Our silly youTube show? As long as humankind has been there, there is the urge to create and communicate. So pretty much any gesture can be considered as art. And if that is so then someone has to separate the wheat fro the chaff. Who do you trust to tell you what is good and what art is bad. Like art can really be considered and figured out. We try and we fail but still we try. Because art is worth that. It is the reflection of us that we can view and try to understand. And we get it wrong a lot. And people like terrible stuff. Oh well.

Ender's Game is one of those movies that most people will just sort of write off as nothing much. But to uber-fans of the book (like Tony), this film is a travesty of the highest proportions. So in this episode you get to enjoy the pain of Tony as he has to rewatch the movie that destroyed his favorite childhood book. You're welcome.

This movie is about 2 1/2 hours too long and not surprisingly it is 2 1/2 hours long. Gore Verbinsky wowed us with the first Pirates movie and it has been downhill since then. Look for Armie Hammer being charmless and forgettable. Look for Johnny Depp as Tonto in a role that might just be his most embarrassing (go check out his latest fragrance commercial to see how he has become a parody of himself). Look for the bad guys that have plans you could care less about and wish were even moderately interesting. So there is a lot to look forward to in this gem.

Is Stardom a curse or a gift? AS with all things it is all about how you live your life.  There are many stars who just live out int he public and it is not a problem. Jerry Seinfeld does his comedians show and just goes places and gets hassled very little while other stars are hounded by paparazzi to within an inch of their lives. I'm sure the best life in stardom is the one where you get the access wiht the success but the public doesn't love too much. Not that any of that matters for all the rest of us. We all just dream of having the bucks to pay the bills. Oh bills. Why. Why. Why.

The best thing about this movie is how short it is.  Still it feels long. Brendan Fraser who had been on a good streak, struck out hard with this one. Sarah Jessica Parker is in the movie and that is the nicest thing you can say about her. Alfred Molina is the villain and his plot is more convoluted than a Christopher Nolan movie (and just as lame). So not much to see here.

Hate Watching is the number one show containing both Dan and Tony.

What does the future hold? Well, shortly lunch, then dinner, then breakfast, then repeat.  Life is just a series of cycles. Is there someone out there that remembers all of this meals? Seems like that would be more of a burden than a gift. Could you have a different thing for every single meal? Most of us just cycle through the same things, over and over. I eat pretty much the same breakfast everyday and could imagine a world where that never changed. But by dinner I'd rather have something unique to the day.  That does not happen much. Where am I going with this? Nowhere. For life is meaningless. Except now I'm starting to think about lunch....

Is David Lynch's Dune bad? No, it is more of a mess and that is not entirely his fault. It feels more like a small weird movie in a big room rather than an epic movie that is about a world. But now we have the new Dune and this movie gets to be just a strange little amalgam of odd things that David Lynch enjoyed. And there is the milk the cat scene. So yea!

We had fog today.  I love the fog. Sound is different. Light is different. The world is different. Too often we don't really see the world in different ways. Well we are finishing up October in full slasher mode with Jason X - where he goes to the future and to outer space and becomes part robot.  It's a lot. There are also space marines and a bunch of hot twenty something girls to die. It's not the worst. We also find out Tony doesn't want a horror movie to be scary, he just wants to laugh as people are killed in funny ways.

Hate Watching is the show that gets it right a percentage of the time.

Ernest was one of those things that no one could have predicted, an ad pitch character taking the world by storm and then ending up making kids movies. It is a great story but sadly the movies are not great themselves.  This iteration was their attempt at a Halloween movie. It ends up being just a bunch of disjointed bits that never fit together and causes your head to hurt. C'est le vie.

Hate Watching is the show that is so dangerous we can only present it once a week.

Everyone knows the tragic story of Bruce Lee's son Brandon dying during the production of the first Crow movie. Well the even sadder news was they kept making Crow movies and boy did they end up being terrible. This one stars Edward Furlong, stars might be stretching the term, he is the guy that stands in front of the camera and delivers the lines that are attributed to the character designated as the Crow. David Boreanez is here too, as is Tara Reid and Dennis Hopper and Danny Trejo, they try and fail too. This movie is a train wreck that crashed into a second train wreck. Oh yeah its October so we are doing all horror/Monster/scary movies - this movie wishes it were those things but instead it is just lame.

Well we just had the big Facebook/Instagram shutdown. It was interesting to experience the loss of a tool that I use all through the day. I am a big fan and user of Instagram and am worried that Facebook is going to destroy its functionality.  They did it to Facebook and you can feel them slowly making Insta worse and worse. But that is the thing with tools, when they are no longer needed, we can just find new tools. I used Flickr for many years til they ruined it and then I left it.  I will miss Insta when it outlives it usefulness but it won't be my fault that they screwed it up. Not that anyone pays attention to customer dissatisfaction....
