Today I speak with Kelly and Stuart, who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. We speak about medication, stigma, coping strategies, boundaries, and what almost a decade after diagnosis looks like (Kelly) vs. a month after diagnosis (Stuart). Hopefully, this conversation can not only offer relatability and aid to those with Bipolar Disorder, but also to those who are close with someone with a diagnosis or pre-diagnosis. One of the most harmful things we can do is to be ignorant of others suffering, and with conversations like this, Kelly and Stuart are brave enough to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. 

Today I speak with Brian Van Tighem who has spent the last 5 years studying in the Shipibo Indigenous medicine traditions, apprenticing under Shipibo brothers. Over the last couple years, Brian has been working with the Ayahuasca Foundation as a program facilitator/assistant healer, running programs alongside his teachers. We talk about his experiences with Ayahuasca and plant medicine, the relationships built with plants and the Shipibo traditions, and some guidance for those interested in partaking in an Ayahuasca ceremony in a traditional setting in Peru, or internationally.

Today I speak with the Chair of Geology at Lawrence University and author of two books, Marcia Bjornerud. We speak largely about her book "Timefulness" and discuss the history of the earth, how it is measured, and what the earth was like throughout history, and how it will look in the future. Marcia is a strong advocate, along with the almost complete majority of geoscientists, for addressing manmade climate change. We touch on some solutions, as well as evidence of the need of large, immediate, systemic change in how we view the earth and our place within it.

Today I speak with Dr. Peggy Kleinplatz who is a clinical psychologist and certified sex therapist who has taught human sexuality for over 35 years at the University of Ottawa. She is also a Professor of Family Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Director of the Optimal Sexual Experiences Research Team at the University of Ottawa. We speak on the history of the Mi'kmaq peoples, the history of governmental and capitalist oppression, and the hopeful future as it pertains to indigenous and environmental rights. We talk specifically on the current issues regarding Fisheries in Nova Scotia, how the situation continues to this day, and how we can make a difference over issues like this across the country and globally.
