In terms of career progression, commitment, etc., all decisions should be focused on your life after you career. That's not to say don't do a good job while in your career! Go for promotions, work hard. But there is life after work...after a career...so it's important to figure out what you'll do, whether it's hobbies or other activities, or perhaps giving back.

Start by listing the activities and skills you're good at and enjoy and see where they intersect. Look at mentoring, volunteering, teaching, travelling, etc...
