Imagine a world where everyone has equal access to healthcare and resources for a healthier life. What would that look like?
At Conscious By Us, we believe health impacts all aspects of our lives, especially our progress toward creating a diverse and inclusive world where everyone feels they belong.
On today’s two-part episode, I have the privilege of chatting with the incredibly talented and wonderful Ess Hödlmoser.
Ess is a nonbinary trans circus artist from Toronto, Canada who specializes in aerial straps and contortion. You may know them from their work in television and film, maybe The Expanse, or The Boys, or Motherland.
I found Ess through their aerial work. Most recently a performance called Atelier Barbette, and they were kind enough to spend an afternoon chatting.
We discussed breaking artistic barriers, health equity, and what it’s like being a self-employed artist with intersecting historically marginalized identities.
This is part one of that interview.
Don't forget to subscribe and let's celebrate the power of art, representation, and health equity together!
