Comfort – A state of contented well being.

Comfort Zone:

A situation or position in which a person feels secure, comfortable or in control. 

A comfort zone is familiar, it is habitual, and can prevent one from moving forward towards their dreams.

This does not mean that a Christian should not live a comfortable life, or not be satisfied with what God gives you.

Scripture examples to understand this condition better.

David

Called from the backside of the dessert and anointed King – defeated Goliath – went to the King’s palace and a Javelin was waiting for him

He went into severe training period, anointed King, and conquered Philistines; Amorites entered Comfort Zone.

Solomon 

not meant to be King, humble, became King 

God made solomon very rich.  He entered his comfort zone 

He had 700 wives and 300 concubines...      

How do we end up in the Comfort Zone

·       Comfort Zone for each person is relative.  It depends on perspective of life and not on level of achievement.

·       May come from periods of hardships

·       May come financial blessings.

·       Comes from lack of needs

Effects of Comfort Zone

1. It becomes easier to fall into temptations – David and Betsheba (2 Samuel 11).
2. The person becomes insensitive to the Holy Spirit Hannah

How to remain out of the Comfort Zone 

·       Don’t be satisfied with business as usual.  Look out for a new thing that God is doing.  

·       Strive for excellence – look on what you can improve.

·       Aim for the heavens.  God does not give you a vision with your abilities.

PRAISE May be defined generally as an ascription of value or worth, the act of expressing approval or admiration; commendation; laudation

Praise is faith in action. To praise God we must first believe in God. That He is. Then through believing (praising) we seek or come to Him. 

Heb 11:6 KJV But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

If we diligently seek Him through praise, our action of faith, the reward is that He will reveal Himself. 

Praise is a decision. When we make that decision, we not only give action to our faith, but we open the door for the manifested presence of God. For God inhabits the praises of His people. 

Psa 22:3 KJV  But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Praise Brings us into the presence of God

Psa 100:4 AMPC  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!

JESUS QUOTED THE SCRIPTURE AND EQUATED PRAISE WITH STRENGTH

Psa 8:2 KJV Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Mat 21:16 KJV And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

 Psa 150:1-6 AMP  PRAISE THE Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the heavens of His power!  (2)  Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness! [Deut. 3:24; Ps. 145:5, 6.]  (3)  Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp!  (4)  Praise Him with tambourine and [single or group] dance; praise Him with stringed and wind instruments or flutes!  (5)  Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!  (6)  Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! 2Co 5:17 KJV  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Personal savior, we become renewed. We become a different person. Most of us feel this in our spirit, and we see that spiritual things become different.

As we go about our daily life however, we begin to see a struggle which is well documented by Paul in Romans 7

the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages.

a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means.

How to be transformed

“by the renewing of the mind”

“The mind is renewed by Learning”

we learn more about the things of the Lord by interacting with His word and learning about Him and the Holy Spirit

As we spend time renewing our mind, our outer being will be transformed in much the same way as a caterpillar is changed into a butterfly. Instead of conforming to the image of the world, you'll begin to conform to the image of the reborn spirit within you which is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Take time to get away from the world and study God's Word. Meditate on it and let it change you from the inside out.

POTENTIAL

The inherent capacity for coming into being capable of becoming real

The thing with potential is that it remains as it is until a force acts on it.

An acorn is the seed of an oak tree. It is Small, but when it is planted in the right soil, and the right conditions are met, then its potential is released, and it will grow into an Oak tree.

The toothpaste will not come out without pressure

Unless a demand is made on your potential it will not come out

Gideon did not know who he was in God

Jdg 6:12-15 AMP  And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, The Lord is with you, you mighty man of [fearless] courage.  (13)  And Gideon said to him, O sir, if the Lord is with us, why is all this befallen us? And where are all His wondrous works of which our fathers told us, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.  (14)  The Lord turned to him and said, Go in this your might, and you shall save Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you?  (15)  Gideon said to Him, Oh Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Behold, my clan is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.

If Gideon did not move, he would have remained the same

Potential is determined by God and it is Limitless

Potential is packaged in us

We discover our potential by Looking into the word of God to see what He has made us and what is possible through us

we have to believe the word God says concerning us 

we must act on God's word and the power will be released to bring it to pass

Concept of God respecting our will. As He created us special.

As a believer, you have the power of the Holy Spirit inside you. But that power won't go to work until you put it to work! The Holy Spirit won't force you. He won't come in and turn down the television set and tell you to go and pray He's sent to help you to do the will of God, to strengthen you, to counsel you...but He won't do a thing until He's asked.

God has so much to give to man, and the spirit man has so much space to be filled by God. The problem however, borders on the willingness and ability to ask

Be persistent even though it seems like it is not coming to pass

Be humble when you ask. Pride will always make you loose

Dignity is different from pride. It is the quality or state of being worthy honored or esteemed

TO BELIEVE:

To have confidence in the truth, existence, reliability, or value of something

God Values our Belief in Him

Gen 15:5-6 AMPC  And He brought him outside [his tent into the starlight] and said, Look now toward the heavens and count the stars--if you are able to number them. [Heb_11:12]  (6)  And he [Abram] believed in (trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to) the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness (right standing with God). Believing is the way we tap into the very power of Almighty God.

All things are possible to them that believe 

Mar 9:23 KJV  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mat 19:26 KJV  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

If you believe the word of God , you will see it come to pass in Your life.

Do you ever have trouble believing the Word of God? Not just agreeing with it mentally, but really believing that what it says will work for you?

There are times when the promises in the Word seem too good to be true in my mind. 

An example is when I am faced with a really difficult task that Looks impossible:

Php 4:13 KJV  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

What do you do when your mind staggers like that at the promise of God? You meditate on that promise.

Scriptural meditation simply means thinking about and reflecting on the Word of God. It means pondering a particular scripture and mentally applying it to your own circumstances again and again until that scripture permanently marks your consciousness.

Meditation provokes INSPIRATION -- REVEALATION--FAITH-- MANIFESTATION

What has God been speaking to you through His word? Believe it and The power will be released to bring it to pass

It is the end of January 2022. If the statistics is right, over 90% of us have already abandoned our new year resolutions.

Distractions is one of the reasons this happens.

Distractions are even more these days as we have our means of productive work and distraction in the same device

One important way to remain on track and fulfil our spiritual and Physical Goals for the Year is to remain FOCUSED.

IF YOU CAN SEE IT SPIRIT AND SOUL, IT WILL SURELY COME TO PASS IN YOUR LIFE

If you cannot see it you cannot get it

Seeing in the Spirit requires communion with God

Seeing in the mind requires deliberate imagination

When the Israelites were sent to spy out the Promised Land, their focus separated them.

It is very crucial you see things from the right perspective or else you may become a victim of poor perception. “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight” (Num. 13:33).
 What you focus on is what dominates you. 

What you focus on is what determines the end of the matter. 

Whatever you identify, remember this . . .

With focus you can achieve anything.

Without it, you can't achieve anything.

The fear of the Lord is where wisdom and knowledge begin

WISDOM the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment:

KNOWLEDGE 

the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association (2) :acquaintance with or understanding of a science, art, or technique

Pro 1:7 AMPC  The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline. [Psa 111:10]

“the fear of the Lord,” does not mean you should be afraid of God. He’s your Father! You should be as secure and unafraid when you come before Him as a child who knows he is dearly loved. 

But you must also have so much respect for Him that whatever you do, you place him first 

The fear of the Lord is respect Reverence and esteem……………………..Honor

Honor means how much weight or respect you give something

When you don’t honor the Lord you can’t get much from Him

How do you honor God

By acknowledging who He is

Acknowledging what he is to you and how you cannot do without him. 

His oxygen sustains us. 

His Gravity holds us on the earth

He is Abba Father but we must not fail to show reverence and respect

Isa 11:3 AMPC  And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears;

If you are in a situation that you do not understand, or it is difficult, close your eyes, worship God reverence Him and He will come through for you. Confess that He makes you of quick understanding.

Those who have disregard for the Lord will not hear Him, and will not receive from Him

As a student or anyone who wants to learn, I encourage you to worship and honor God before you seek knowledge whether physical or spiritual, and it will come to you.

"GRIT" -- is the great leveler. You don't have to be the wealthiest, have the most friends, or be the smartest kid in the class; if you persevere, you can reach your goals. 

What is consistency?

The quality or fact of being consistent: such as a: the quality or fact of staying the same at different times
What is persistence? 

The quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult

Perseverance, tenacity, determination, resolve, resolution, resoluteness, staying power, purposefulness, firmness of purpose, patience

Story of the importunate widow and the unjust Judge

Luk 18:2-8 KJV  Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:  (3)  And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.  (4)  And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;  

(5)  Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.  (6)  And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.  (7)  And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?  (8)  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Whatever you're facing today, God can use it to lift you to a higher level.

1Co 15:58 KJV  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Gal 6:9 KJV  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

The resistance you're facing today is preparing you. It's strengthening your character. It's building your trust and reliance in God. It's absolutely necessary in order to handle the growth you're about to have!

You may have to chart an alternate course to get to your destination. It may not be the route you planned or the time frame you anticipated, but you're still successful as long as you keep moving toward your intended destination.

Don't ever lose sight of where you were headed. 

Romans 11:29 says,"The gifts and callings of God are without repentance." 

What does that mean? God's gifts and calling for your life cannot be withdrawn, it's unchangeable and irrevocable. God doesn't change his mind about your destiny. Nor should you!

At this time of the year most of us think about Resolutions

Many people make New Year Resolutions - things they desire to start or stop doing in the New Year. 

Unfortunately, these are usually vague and undocumented. 

Almost invariably, the resolutions are forgotten before the end of January!

Ninety three (93) percent of those who set New Year goals or New Year resolutions go unfulfilled.

Goal-- the End towards which effort is directed

A person without goals in his life is like a ship without maps and a compass

You must have Vision/Goals for this Year so you can Move forward in Gods Favor this year

Goals are biblical. Paul said, Php 3:12-14 AMP  Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.  (13)  I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,  (14)  I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

WRITE DOWN THE VISION

For everybody, it is always better when things are written down than when we commit it to memory

 Hab 2:2 AMP  And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by.

You must write down the Vision in an easy way that you can see when you glance at it

ASK GOD FOR A STRATEGIC PLAN

As a redeemed child of God, your strategy should come from God, otherwise pressures and people can easily take you in the wrong direction.

He is waiting to whisper the plan for you succeed in your ears

Jas 4:2 KJV  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

Isaiah 30:21 NKJV 'Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it."' 

Making Effective Use of Gods Divine Favor He has released for us this year 2022 will involve: 

·       setting meaningful goals; 

o   SPIRITUAL

o   FAMILY

o   HEALTH

o   FINANCE

o   CAREER

·       Make practical and flexible plans:

·       documenting them carefully; and

·       pursuing them doggedly
