As we begin the season of Lent, this special contemplative prayer episode invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and rest in the truth of God’s presence. Whether you feel near to Him or distant, whether your heart is full or heavy, God is with you—right here, right now.

Through guided prayer and scripture meditation on Psalm 139, this time of reflection will help you release distractions, quiet your heart, and recognize that you are never alone. Just as God was with Jesus on His journey to the cross, He is with you in every moment of your life.

Day 44: Genesis 20:1-18 God’s Grace in Restoration (2025): Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study

Fear has a way of making us forget what we know about God, and that’s exactly what happens to Abraham in Genesis 20. Despite all that God has done for him, he falls into an old pattern—deception. When faced with uncertainty, he lies about Sarah being his sister, just like he did in Egypt. But even in Abraham’s failure, God steps in to protect Sarah and uphold His promise. This passage reminds us that fear-driven decisions lead to unnecessary trouble, but God’s faithfulness remains constant. Even when we fall back into bad habits, He invites us back into the process of restoration and redemption.

Day 43: Genesis 19:30-38: Fear Based Decisions  (2025): Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study

Fear-based decisions often lead to brokenness, and that’s exactly what we see in this passage. After escaping the destruction of Sodom, Lot and his daughters isolate themselves in a cave, and fear pushes them to make choices that have devastating consequences for generations. Instead of trusting God, they take matters into their own hands, leading to the birth of two sons who become the ancestors of the Moabites and Ammonites—nations that would later oppose Israel. But even in the midst of this brokenness, God’s redemptive plan is still at work. The story reminds us that fear clouds our judgment, but faith anchors us in God’s provision.
