Day 40: Genesis 18:16-33 Interceding Before God  (2025) Daily Devotional, Bible Study

When Abraham learns of God’s impending judgment on Sodom, he boldly intercedes, pleading for mercy. His conversation with God isn’t about changing God’s mind, but about revealing God’s heart—one that is both just and merciful. This passage reminds us that intercessory prayer is powerful, not because we can override human choices, but because we align our hearts with God’s will. Ultimately, it points us to Jesus, our ultimate intercessor, who stands before the Father, praying for us even now. If Abraham could stand before God and ask for mercy, how much more confidence can we have in bringing our prayers to the One who gave His life for us?

Day 39: Genesis 18:1-15: Trusting God’s Timing (2025): Daily Bible Study, Daily Devotional

Sometimes, God’s promises seem so impossible that our first reaction is laughter. In Genesis 18, Abraham and Sarah receive news that defies all logic—Sarah will bear a child in her old age. But God’s response to Sarah’s doubt is a question that challenges all of us: Is anything too hard for the Lord? This passage reminds us that God is not limited by time, circumstances, or human reasoning. His plans are always greater than what we expect, and His timing is perfect. Even when we struggle with doubt, God’s faithfulness remains.
