The debate surrounding AI and whether or not (or even how) its development should be regulated is definitely heating up, with a flurry of mostly-Democrats coming out in favor of forcing a development slowdown in order to supposedly prevent a looming AI-apocalypse. Why are leaders from Anthropic saying they agree? Legitimate conspiracy and conspiracy theories abound, and the panel will discuss WHY this is happening, who might be responsible, and what the free market solution is. Also, President Donald Trump is floating the idea of giving every adult in the country $5000... if Republicans win in the midterms. We discuss whether this is a catastrophe, how to make it less catastrophic or even a good idea (difficult to pull off), and whether this is just blatant political bribery that is fundamentally different than other political promises. On UNHINGED: The fervor against the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial seems to have abruptly died now that everyone found out the juror is a black, Haitian immigrant who votes Republican. And for America @ 250: We go from a confusing defeat at Kip's Bay to a pyrrhic victory at Harlem Heights as the American Revolution fully enters one of its darkest moments, in the loss of New York City. The Heartland Institute's Linnea Lueken, Jim Lakely, and S.T. Karnick, will talk about all of this and more on Episode #552 of the In The Tank Podcast. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin on Monday announced the repeal of an Obama/Biden rule that regulated emissions of greenhouse gases from power plants with the intent to shutter all coal and most natural gas power plants in America. This was a long-time coming and the usual climate doomers are upset. This is huge news, but what does the repeal of the rule really mean for the environment and your wallet. On Episode 216 of The Climate Realism Show the Heartland Institute’s Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely will discuss this news with Steve Milloy, who was on the transition team for EPA in President Trump’s first term. We will also be joined again by Heartland UK/Europe Director Lois Perry to discuss the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including climate change putting African rain summoning sorcerers at risk of being murdered. Net Zero, overall, might be dying in Europe. It’s being rejected by voters in seemingly every election in recent years, and even Democrats here in America don’t talk about it anymore when it used to be a pillar of their platform. So why is something called “Dairy Net Zero,” a green zombie from the Biden administration, still alive in the United States? We will discuss what that is, and why it has to go. On Episode 216 of The Climate Realism Show the Heartland Institute’s Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely are back LIVE with special guest Samantha Fillmore to cover that story and some other Crazy Climate News of the Week. An Obama economic advisor finally admits what we all knew: green energy mandates make energy more expensive. College football schedules should be adjusted because of climate change? And cleaner air is a good thing … except it causes more global warming. Join us Friday at 1 p.m. ET on YouTube, Rumble, X, and Facebook. September 11th, 2001, was one of the darkest days in U.S. history. Almost 3,000 Americans died, and it is not a stretch to argue that it changed the course of American life forever. While the lives lost were the worst impact by far, policy decisions made in the aftermath still hurt us today, many of which were foundational for today's powerful surveillance state. The panel will discuss their personal experience with the terror attack, and the bad policy that followed. Also, The Heartland Institute has released an important study ranking states based on how they handle Medicaid. Government is very fond of wasting your money, but some states waste less than others. We look at what the difference is between the top performing states, and the worst. For UNHINGED: One year after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, violence is still being celebrated by the left. It is ugly and vile and we're going to talk about it. And for America @ 250 - This week in 1776, The United States of America officially gets her name. The Heartland Institute's Linnea Lueken, Jim Lakely, and S.T. Karnick, will talk about all of this and more on Episode #552 of the In The Tank Podcast. The Heartland Institute President James Taylor joins Andrew Wilkow on The Wilkow Majority to make the free-market case for AI data centers, pushing back on the Chinese Communist Party-linked money fueling many of the activists. Taylor argues that if America goes "low tech," it risks becoming a has-been nation in the race against China, and lays out why brownfield sites, like Newark's abandoned factories, are the smart place to build. He draws a parallel to how the fracking boom transformed poverty-stricken towns in Texas and North Dakota into thriving communities. Taylor also addresses conservative distrust of Big Tech head-on, explaining why Heartland, which has fought tech censorship for years, believes a "trust but verify" approach can secure free speech protections as these companies build out the next era of American infrastructure.
