Heath was certified as a North Carolina CPA in 2000. He is a Certified Tax Coach as well as an instructor with The American Institute of Certified Tax Planners. Heath also conducts training seminars for college planning strategies, Continuing Professional Education for CPA’s, and is a mentor for other CPA’s working toward converting their practice to an Advanced Tax Planning firm.

Upon completing his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Accounting from Appalachian State University in 1999, he began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen. He served as a business consultant and auditor where he learned the strategic operations of companies across the United States. After leaving Arthur Andersen, Heath joined Lowe’s Home Improvement as a Store Manager and followed this as a manager with The Home Depot. He successfully operated business units with $20M-$40M in annual revenue.

Following 13 years of employment, he initiated his passion of Entrepreneurship and founded Walters CPA. Walters CPA works exclusively with small business owners providing advisory services to guide owners to keep more of their hard-earned money. In his time away from the office, Heath enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy of 18 years and their three children, Allie (14), Brianna (12) and Cooper (2). He is a member of C12, the past President of The Optimist Club - Charlotte, a student minister leader at New Charlotte Church, a couples group Bible Study leader, and an avid lover of golf, college football and home improvement/remodeling.
