Who is Yeshua’s biblical family? Understanding the answer to this question is fundamental to understanding our own identity in Messiah Yeshua. In this session, we get into basic biblical definitions. Yeshua gave the Torah at Mt Sinai. He entered into a marriage covenant with the House of Jacob. This is His biblical family.

So, who is the House of Jacob? It includes all 12 tribes who came out of Egypt. This covenant is with them and with their descendants. But the covenant was made with two groups of people: those who were there and those who were NOT there:

That you may enter into the covenant with the LORD your God, and into His oath which the LORD your God is making with you today. Now not with you alone am I making this covenant and this oath, but both with those who stand here with us today in the presence of the LORD our God and with those who are not with us here today. Deuteronomy 29: 12, 14-15

There was a mixed multitude that came out of Egypt. They were included in the covenant made at Mt Sinai. The Torah calls them strangers or sojourners. They get adopted or grafted in to the family, to the House of Jacob. The covenant was made with the literal House of Jacob at Mt Sinai and with those who were NOT there; that is, those who are grafted in by faith TODAY. The covenant is with you and me.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Salvation by grace through faith is not a NEW concept found only in the New Testament.

This is a Torah concept and it is found in the Exodus story. The way that the children of Israel were saved out of Egyptian bondage and slavery was by grace through faith. By faith, and in obedience, the children of Israel slaughtered the Passover lamb and applied the blood of the lamb to their door frames. When the children of Israel came out of Egypt they were saved by grace through faith. THEN the Lord brought them to Mt Sinai where they could receive the Torah and learn to walk in His ways.

The Passover Feast is all about salvation by grace through faith in the God of Israel. The connection from Passover to Salvation in Yeshua is made when John the Baptist proclaims the following:

The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

Yeshua ultimately hangs and dies on the tree at the time of Passover, thus fulfilling the prophetic message that John the Baptist spoke over him, that He is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

In Matthew 24:3, Yeshua was asked, “What is the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” For those of us who have open eyes and are knowledgeable of bible prophesy, we know that we are living in the end of days, for these are all around us. Presently, the nation/people of Israel are in living in exile for breaking the commandments of the God of Israel and the nations of the world rule over them. In a time of transition, we will see the fall of the nations and the whole house of Israel will be restored. We commonly call this window of time the tribulation period. A key trigger event that happens in the tribulation period is when the land of Israel gets divided (Joel 3:1-3). Also the city of Jerusalem is divided (Zech. 14:1-2). What is the fulfillment of this prophesy? I believe it is fulfilled when we see the creation of a Palestinian State. This is one of the major signs of the end of days and the coming of the Lord.
