We are focusing on friendship and how it is a choice! What are the different elements that a healthy friendship should have? Is it normal to outgrow a friendship? Join us and please share your experiences with us at [email protected].
This week we continue our discussion on friendships, mental health, and the importance of letting go as a form of self-care; especially when you are an empath and feel the energy of those around you! Friendship is a two-way street and it can be exhausting if you're the only one giving. Friendships can also be short-lived, serving a purpose for that moment in your life. Recognize that sometimes you have to let go of people and relationships to find your peace.
**The sound gets better after the intro...still working on the sound!
There is a stigma behind asking for help and for medication. Speak out, share your experiences, and make it the new normal!
Welcome! Come join us as we celebrate our 10th episode! We invited my mother, Serena's Nana, to join us and we are excited to hear her experiences with dating after divorce and after 50! We are continuing the conversation on red flags. We will read some listeners warning signs and my mother will share what she looked out for when on the dating scene.
Welcome! We discuss when a second chance at a relationship doesn't work out. Learning to walk away doesn't have to be difficult. After a relationship ends what are those red flags to look for in the next relationship? Is it better to use social media or a dating app to find your next partner?
The stress upon high school students, new graduates, and young adults is a problem! Who made the rule that you must have your shit together at a certain age?? It's okay not to know! It's okay to take a break! We, as a society, need to stop pushing our youth into making life-changing decisions at such a young age! We all know people who do not use their college degree and work in a totally unrelated field. Let's stop the pressure and allow for non-traditional pathways for life after high school.
We all have a "6th Sense" and it's called intuition. In my self-help research, to help with my anxiety, I came across the book, "The Gift of Fear", by Gavin De Becker and he explains that we all have survival signals that keep us safe. Fear can be paralyzing and has a negative connotation but we can harness and should recognize our fears and use those skills to keep us safe from harm.
In this episode we share some experiences where we felt something was just not right. From a sketchy, serial-killer looking van parking right next to my door in an empty parking lot and those "gut-feelings".
We discuss the time I finally took control of my dating life and stopped leaving it up to chance or fate! I made a list of what I wanted in my future partner and when my husband of 30 years walked into my work I hunted down his phone number and asked HIM out! Serena does a social media scrub after realizing it was affecting her mental health. Get rid of toxicity and unrealistic expectations that are found across all social-media platforms!
The best constructive criticism I ever received was from a family member, it hurt, but that was because it was true! It is not all about me. How do you know you're being love-bombed?? Serena shares an experience with an ex-boyfriend that moved out of the friendship zone into a relationship because of love-bombing! Love bombing is intense! They build it up quickly and take it all away just as fast. Does that mean they are a narcissist? Probably!
There is a teen Tik Tok filter that is creating a yearning to give wisdom and encouragement to our younger selves. If you could go back to high school, what would you do differently? That is the question we are asking ourselves.
