2001 was a traumatic year for 11 year old, Bethany Markowski of Jackson, Tennessee. Her mom, Jonnie and her dad, Larry met and got together while Larry was hiding his first wife and children. He eventually came clean after Jonnie became pregnant and left his first wife. Alleged abuse in the house progressed with every birthday candle added to Bethany’s birthday cake. By January 2001 Jonnie packed up her car, unenrolled Bethany from school and moved to Nashville, Tennessee with her sister Lori and her family. Larry was quickly able to track them down and after an incident at Bethany’s school a restraining order was put in place for Jonnie, but Larry was able to get unsupervised visits with Bethany every other weekend. Bethany Leanne Markowski disappeared while on her second visit with her dad.
