I was a good student throughout high school, and I'm going to finish the year with a 4.6 weighted GPA graduating the AP Capstone and Honors diploma. Throughout HS, I competed in Speech and Debate earning the ranking of top female public forum debater in Nevada two years in a row. I'm currently the president and public forum captain of my school's debate team and apart of the founding members of our schools Mock Trial team. Throughout high school, I've worked hard to get into college, during the fall I'm attending American University in DC in the School of Public Affairs. I want to be able to spend all my time in college learning about political science and interning on political campaigns so I can make America a better place. Sadly, with my family, the current financial situation getting to college and ensuring I spend most of my time learning rather than working is not a reality. With the gap between the cost of attendance and the aid received I'm about 10k a year short. My father and I have gone back to court to try to get things like a college fund promised to me by my mother but, the court ruled against us. My dad and I have tried every means necessary to get me into college without putting us further in debt; this is our last resort.
