Have you ever felt like you're doing everything you can to rebuild your life after leaving a narcissistic relationship, but you're STILL stuck? You're trying to heal, raise your kids, navigate your new normal, and move forward, but deep down, you're lonely, exhausted, and wondering when things will finally get better.
Sweet friend, if that's you, this episode of Her Healing Season is for YOU.
When I felt my loneliest and lowest, God used two powerful truths to remind me that I wasn't alone and that there was still hope for my future.
❤️ Truth #1: God has not let go of you.
We'll explore Hebrews 13:5–6 and the incredible promise that God will never leave us or loosen His grip on our lives. We'll look at God's encouragement to Joshua to be strong and courageous, and I'll share a personal picture that reminds me of the comfort we can find in knowing God is holding our hand, even when life feels scary and uncertain.
❤️ Truth #2: You don't have to do this alone.
For a long time, I struggled to accept help, even when I desperately needed it. Through Philippians 4:10–23, we'll look at what Paul teaches us about generosity, contentment, and receiving help. Sometimes God provides for us through the people He places around us, and learning to receive that help can be part of our healing.
If you're a Christian mom rebuilding your life after leaving a narcissistic husband, navigating single motherhood, or struggling to find hope in a season that feels overwhelming, I pray this episode reminds you that feeling stuck doesn't mean God has abandoned you.
You don't have to see the entire path ahead. You can trust the One who walks with you, and you don't have to carry every burden alone.
Your next step: Ask God to help you recognize the safe, trustworthy people He may be using to support you in this season.

Remember, mama: God has not let go of you. You are allowed to heal, receive help, and take this journey one step at a time.
Ever have one of those afternoons when your kids are fighting, everybody's yelling, somebody's crying, and you're about two seconds away from losing it yourself?! Friends, that was ME last week! 😂
And let me tell you, I have been on the parenting struggle bus for a while now. At this point, I might actually be the driver!
But in the middle of the chaos, I had a realization: I've been learning how to regulate MY nervous system, but what about my kids?!
So I tried something new. I sat down with each of my children individually and walked them through a simple reset using breathing, gentle tapping, slowing down, and prayer. And guess what? We made it through the rest of the evening without another issue!
Now, I'm not claiming to have discovered a magic parenting trick. I wish! But this experience reminded me that if I'm still learning how to manage my own emotions as an adult, why would I expect my kids to have it all figured out?
In this episode of Her Healing Season, we're talking about:
Kids and nervous system regulation: Why helping our children manage big emotions matters just as much as correcting their behavior.
My step-by-step reset: The breathing, tapping, and prayer routine I tried with my own kids.
A biblical heart posture: How we can teach our children to focus on their own hearts and their relationship with God instead of only pointing out someone else's flaws.
Christian parenting and self-control: Connecting Scripture with the everyday challenges of fighting, yelling, frustration, and sibling conflict.
Mama, we need to regulate, too! Why we can't expect perfection from our children when we're still learning ourselves.
We'll talk about Romans 12:2, Psalm 139:23–24, James 1:19–20, and Galatians 5:22–23 as we explore transformation, self-control, and inviting God to work in our hearts.
And just to be clear, this isn't about excusing hitting, ignoring boundaries, or expecting a few deep breaths to magically fix every parenting problem. It's about adding another tool to our parenting toolbox while continuing to teach accountability, kindness, and biblical principles.
Because friends, we're not perfect moms raising perfect kids. We're growing together, one hard afternoon at a time!

You Don't Have to Be a Perfect Mom to Lead Your Kids to Jesus with Samantha Watson
What if your children don't need a perfectly healed mom—they need to see a mom who knows where to go when life hurts?
In today's episode of Her Healing Season, I'm talking with Christian author, podcaster, and children's ministry leader Samantha Watson about something so many moms wrestle with: How do I lead my children spiritually when I'm still healing myself?
Samantha has spent more than 20 years serving children and families and is the creator of the iDevote Series and host of the top 3% globally ranked Simple Devotions for Children podcast.
We talk about:
✨ Why our children need to develop their own relationship with Jesus—not simply follow Mom's faith
✨ How our own past trauma and healing journey can affect the way we approach faith and devotions with our kids
✨ Why you don't have to be completely healed before you can spiritually lead your children
✨ What our kids can learn by watching us pray, seek God, apologize, forgive, and walk through difficult seasons
✨ How growing closer to God can help children develop wisdom and make better choices as they get older
✨ Simple ways to bring faith into your home without making it another overwhelming thing on your to-do list
One of my favorite parts of this conversation is the reminder that our healing journey can actually become something our children learn from.
They don't need to see a perfect mom.
They can see a mom who says, “I don't have this all figured out, but I know where I'm going.”
If you're a mom who is healing, rebuilding, or simply trying to grow closer to God while raising your kids, I think this conversation will encourage you.

Remember, friend: you don't have to have your entire story healed before God can use you—or before you can lead your children toward Him.
Have you ever said something in anger, frustration, or exhaustion and immediately wished you could take it back?
This week, I was studying the book of Romans and got completely stopped by what Scripture has to say about our mouths. The Bible doesn't treat our words as insignificant. Scripture compares the tongue to fire, poison, a bit in a horse's mouth, and a rudder on a ship—something small that can have an enormous impact.
In this episode, we're diving into Romans 3, James 3, Matthew 12, Proverbs, Ephesians, Colossians, and more as we talk about the power of our words, the danger of careless speech, and what our words reveal about what's happening inside our hearts.
But this isn't simply an episode about “watching your mouth.”
It's about going deeper.
Because Jesus tells us that what comes out of our mouths comes from our hearts. So instead of only asking God, “Help me control my tongue,” what if we started asking:
“God, what is happening in my heart that is producing these words?”
We'll talk about the words we speak to our children, our families, other people, our former spouses, and even ourselves. We'll also talk about planting seeds through our words—how we can faithfully plant and water while trusting God with the growth and His timing.
And I'll give you a simple tool you can actually use in real life: P.A.U.S.E.
I've created a free Bible study + reflection workbook to go along with this episode! It includes the Scripture references we talk about, reflection questions, heart-conviction prompts, a 7-day P.A.U.S.E. challenge, and a printable P.A.U.S.E. reminder you can keep nearby.

If you've ever struggled with reactive speech, anger, gossip, people-pleasing, harsh words, or simply wish you were better at communicating with grace, this episode is for you.

Her Healing Season is faith-led rest and recovery for moms after leaving a narcissistic husband.
Have you ever walked away from a relationship and thought, “Wait… was it really that bad?” Or maybe you find yourself constantly second-guessing your decisions, questioning your memory, or wondering if you can trust your own instincts anymore.
Today on Her Healing Season, I am welcoming back Dr. David W. Pendergrass for a conversation about gaslighting, narcissistic and toxic relationships, rebuilding self-trust, and learning how to recognize healthy relationships after you've experienced an unhealthy one.
We start with the basics: What exactly IS gaslighting? What makes someone a narcissist? And what makes a relationship toxic?
Then we get into what happens after you leave.
Why can the effects of gaslighting continue long after the relationship is over? Why do women sometimes struggle to trust themselves? What does hypervigilance look like in dating and relationships? And how do you tell the difference between healthy caution and fear caused by your past?
We also talk about something I know many women wonder about:
“How do I make sure I don't miss the red flags again?”
David and I discuss why red flags can be difficult to see at the beginning of a relationship, what can keep us in relationships even after we start noticing problems, and whether people who leave narcissistic or toxic relationships can find themselves repeating familiar relationship patterns.
And perhaps most importantly, we talk about what it looks like to eventually trust again—not just another person, but yourself.
If you've ever wondered whether you can have a healthy relationship after a toxic one, this conversation is for you.

What if boundaries are biblical?
As Christian women, we hear a lot about forgiveness, grace, loving others, turning the other cheek, and being peacemakers. But sometimes we can become so focused on being "good Christians" that we forget something important: **Jesus had boundaries too.**
In this episode of *Her Healing Season*, we're looking at **7 biblical examples of boundaries** and what they can teach us about protecting our peace, obeying God, and navigating relationships—especially after experiencing narcissistic abuse.
We are going to look at 7 examples of people in the Bible who set, or needed to set, boundaries. And ultimately, we'll talk about what it means to live **in the world but not of the world**—knowing when to extend grace, when to tolerate differences, and when standing for Jesus matters more than keeping the peace.
If you've ever wondered, *"Am I being selfish? Am I being unforgiving? Is this boundary actually biblical?"*—this episode is for you.
Boundaries aren't about becoming harder or colder.
They're about becoming **clearer about what God has called you to carry, protect, release, tolerate, and stand firm on.**

Have a Lack of Self-Worth? 3 Ways to Build Confidence
What if your lack of confidence isn't actually the problem?
Maybe you look at other women and wonder, How does she seem so confident? How does she speak up like that? How does she set boundaries without feeling guilty? How does she trust herself?
But what if confidence is something you can actually rebuild?
After criticism, rejection, gaslighting, manipulation, or years of second-guessing yourself, it can become really difficult to trust your own thoughts, feelings, decisions, and instincts.
And eventually you may start questioning everything… your decisions, your instincts, your appearance, your worth, and even who you are.
In this episode, we're talking about what it really looks like to rebuild your self-worth and confidence as a Christian woman.
I'll share some of my own struggles with needing validation, learning to trust myself again, keeping promises to myself, and even the slightly ridiculous thing I started doing in the mirror to change the way I talked to myself. 😂
We'll talk about the difference between self-worth and confidence, why your worth cannot be determined by someone else's approval, how small acts of discipline can rebuild self-trust, and what Scripture says about the way we see ourselves.
Because confidence doesn't mean you never doubt yourself.
It doesn't mean you're never afraid.
And it definitely doesn't mean you become the loudest woman in the room.
Confidence is learning who you are, who you belong to, and learning to trust yourself again.
And friend, if you've spent years wondering whether you're enough, whether you're doing things right, or whether you can actually trust yourself… this conversation is for you.

You don't have to become a completely different woman.
You get to learn how to live from the identity God has already given you. ❤️
Go, mama, go! 🙃
Get the kids up. Get them dressed. Make breakfast. Get them to school. Work. Pick them up. Practice. Dinner. Homework. Baths. Bed.
And then maybe you finally get to breathe… or fall asleep on the couch… or pour yourself another glass of whatever you just told yourself you weren't going to have as much of. 😂
But what if your constant “go, go, go” isn't always just because you're a busy mom?
What if sometimes busy becomes a socially acceptable way to avoid what you don't want to feel?
In this episode of Her Healing Season, we're talking about hyper-vigilance, survival mode, burnout, and the uncomfortable reality that sometimes slowing down can feel harder than staying busy.
After leaving my husband, I went straight into single-mom survival mode. I worked 7 days a week, had 3 different jobs, side hustles, kids, a social life, and a calendar that never seemed to stop.
I thought I was just being strong.
I thought I had a great work ethic.
But God eventually showed me something I didn't realize at the time:
I wasn't just working hard. I was running.
Running from grief.
In this episode, we'll talk about:
What hyper-vigilance can look like in everyday motherhood
Why rest can feel uncomfortable after prolonged stress
How “if I keep moving, I don't have to feel” can become a pattern
Why busy can become a form of avoidance
The connection between survival mode and the inability to slow down
What the Bible says about rest, including Matthew 11:28–29, Psalm 46:10, Mark 6:31, and Psalm 23
What “holy rest” can actually look like
Learning to sit quietly with your thoughts instead of immediately filling the silence
Why rest isn't laziness, weakness, or irresponsibility
How God taught me that I could do what He called me to do without carrying what He never asked me to carry
Because here's the thing, mama:
You were never created to live your entire life in survival mode.
There is a season to work.
But there is also a season to be still.
Maybe your healing season begins when you finally stop running.
If you're a mom rebuilding your life after leaving a narcissistic husband and you're ready to stop surviving and begin rebuilding and restoring, I'd love to help you.
