Anyone else hate mornings? Not a morning person? Me either! In today's episode I'm sharing HOW you can create a simple morning routine that works for you. We're all in different stages of motherhood and we all have different needs, so a morning routine isn't always a one size fits all. That's why it's important to create something that works for you right where you are. I'm going to share with you how I started waking up earlier and a fool proof way to make sure you create a morning routine you can actually stick to! Grab some coffee and headphones as we walk through this episode together.

Welcome back mama! This is the forth and final episode in our December series Why You Shouldn't Wait for January to Create Change and we're talking about the power of starting small. Is it possible to radically transform your life by taking baby steps? And if so, why don't we believe it's worth it to start where we can and with what we have? I hope today's episode reminds you that baby steps are better than no steps.
In today's episode we'll discuss things like perfectionism, which has a lot to do with why we don't believe in the power of starting small. I'll share with you why you absolutely must take baby steps when working toward any new goal or creating new habits in your life. I'll also share how to practically assess your expectations and ditch the "all or nothing" mentality.
So grab some hot tea, reheat your coffee, and put in some headphones, mama. This episode is FIRE!!!

On today’s episode of Her Pursuit, I’m interviewing Brittany Wilson- photographer, mother of 3 and wife to her husband, Kaleb, who was in an traumatic accident that left him with a spinal cord injury. In this episode, Brittany opens up about what it was like to get a call that would forever change both of their lives, how their relationship moved forward in the months and years that followed, and her honest feelings about God & her faith through the healing process they both had to navigate. She openly shares about feeling like God had given them both so much to handle and asking him, “Why?” which I think we can all relate to in some regard. We also discuss the reality of walking in faith after experiencing a life-altering trauma, what it looks like to deal with anger toward God, and her journey to pregnancy through PCOS. We even talk about releasing emotions that we may have held onto for years, unmet expectations, and grieving the life and plans we thought would be.
Brittany gets super vulnerable about delivering via emergency C-section after struggling to conceive and how that birth impacted the way she felt about herself as a mom and motherhood as a whole. We get into postpartum and what it’s like when anxiety comes to a head and becomes more than you can handle or try to ignore and how to cope during those difficult seasons.
She and her husband are examples of holding onto faith, trusting God for His best even when your world is absolutely turned upside down, and overcoming huge obstacles in order to thrive and live life to the fullest. This episode will encourage and inspire you. If you’ve ever felt like God has given you too much to handle or if you’ve ever grieved an outcome or season of life that you thought would look one way, but turned out to be completely different, you must listen to this interview. You will laugh and cry. So grab your headphones or plug your phone into your car and let’s dive in to this amazing conversation.

With the holidays quickly approaching (here in America), I wanted to speak to a topic that I have first-hand experience with. Thanksgiving is all about being grateful and thankful, but what about when you truly don't feel that gratitude in your life? What does it mean when you look around and cannot see anything to be thankful for? Whether pain, hurt, loss, or disappointment in blocking your view, there can be many reasons we struggle to practice gratitude. And listen, I get it. I was there.
In today's episode I'm sharing how to practice thankfulness in the middle of truly difficult seasons. So if you're in the middle of a hard season right now or the holidays tend to be difficult for you, give this episode a listen for practical ways to find just one thing to be grateful for. Remember, it's all about small shifts.
I'll share some of my story from a particularly hard season I was in right around the holidays and also give some practical advice for shifting your perspective (just briefly) to look around and notice for maybe the first time in a while what all is actually there to be thankful for.
Here's the link to episode 10 where I share more about our journey to getting pregnant that I mention in today's episode.

On today’s episode, I talk with Abigail about her struggles with endometriosis and infertility after having her first biological child and then her journey with adoption. She and her husband both felt the Lord calling them into a family that may look a little “different” before they were even married. Abigail knew early on that God had placed adoption on her heart, but shares how, at times, she struggled to see adoption as God’s best for her life as they were trying to conceive a second time. In this episode, we talk about learning to accept God’s plan as Plan A instead of Plan B and how He has so much more in store for us than we can see sometimes. His ways are always best even when we can’t see or understand the timing of things. This episode is perfect for the woman considering adoption or even foster care and will also encourage the mom who has already adopted and is fostering. Whether or not those things apply to your journey, this conversation is uplifting and I know it will inspire hope in your life. I hope you enjoy it!
