This episode shines a little light on the shadowy operations carried out across a honeycomb network of military research. Because this the heart of the The Strecker Memorandum: allegations about experimental research carried out by post-war international scientific brotherhood–and the public health crisis which subsequently transpired.
The Strecker Group's publications make an urgent and impassioned plea to alert the public. Those calls fell on deaf ears in the late 80s when Strecker emerged, and the establishment worked swiftly to ensure his reach was limited and combatted with categorical denials from CDC PR flunkies.
But all these years later, does The Strecker Memorandum hold up?
Join me for this deep dive into a fascinating, lost artifact of the original AIDS dissident era.

Poolhouse is joined by Fleeing California & den mother to the Lost Boys of backklash, the witty, insightful, and absolutely gorgeous white POC mommy-anon Spendy O. Williams, for a very special FLASHBACKK to the (retro)future episode.
Spendy is truly a dear friend of the pod–she’s one of our earliest guests. She also happens to be a former High Priestess of Punk, and possesses considerably informed opinions on music and culture.
Poolhouse and Spendy read Meet Me in the Bathroom, an oral history chronicling the turn of the century rocknroll zeitgeist that produced The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem and more. It is an era both Poolhouse and Spendy are intimately familiar with, as they lived it.
As PH and Spendy discovered in previous HCTB appearances, Poolhouse and Spendy are both diskopunk veterans of CLUB FAKE, the legendary underground west coast hotspot during that glittering utopian moment that was (not) called electroclash.
Poolhouse and Spendy almost certainly rubbed shoulders within the intimacy of underground “electro” (which was code for ‘cool dance music for rocknroll people’ back then) nightclubs like Fake, Popscene, The Finger, and more. They were there when the garage-rock-disco-punk revival hit San Francisco. But both were left a bit underwhelmed by the picture that MMITB painted of their shared history..so they decide to make their own!
Dust off your skinny tie and trucker cap, put on your best striped shirt and nighttime shades, and lace up your Doc Martins or Converse, because in this is very special FLASHBACKK episode, we are going on a JOURNEYY thru space and time... in which these two spunky, punky club kid veterans invite you to meet them on the cosmic dancefloor (when you’re done in the bathroom) for disco-pogo punked and pumped edition of HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH, where we go back to the dirty, dingy, sketchy, skeezy roots of so-called indie sleaze…..

I am not even joking you when I say that backklash definitely had an influence on the scene. You can see it in the evolution of the flier art, I am telling you!

Jin the Ninja joins the program this week to lend his highly informed perspectives and esoteric knowledge to provide insight into the secrets that lay beyond in the inner / outer para-political dynamics. Jin is basically Poolhouse’s spiritual advisor at this point, so it was probably a good idea for these two to finally meet anyway–and what an electrifying encounter it is indeed!
Together, Jin and Poolhouse touch on a number of aspects related to the modern occult currents. Jin is a trained student and practicioner of a mystical and esoteric form of Buddhism known as Vajarayana (Tantric) yoga. From this perspective, he expands on a number of concepts which have meaning and can be broadly applied across many traditions.
Don’t let the big Sanskrit words scare you! Things do get far out, but only a little bit far east. Jin and Poolhouse discuss many of the intersections of esoteric eastern philosophies and western occult traditions, by way of the Kabbalah. All of which informs what we understand to be “magic” today, in all its forms and spellings.
A little bit on Vajrayana or Tantric Buddhism, which is the practice in which Jin is a learned scholar and cleric. Per wikpedia (emphasis ours):
Vajrayāna (Sanskrit: वज्रयान, [diamond lightning]), also known as .. Secret Mantra, Tantric Buddhism, and Esoteric Buddhism, is a Buddhist tradition of tantric practice that developed in the medieval Indian subcontinent and spread to Tibet, Nepal, other Himalayan states, East Asia, and Mongolia.
Vajrayāna practices are connected to specific lineages in Buddhism, through the teachings of lineage holders. Others might generally refer to these texts as the Buddhist Tantras.[1] It includes practices that make use of mantras, dharanis, mudras, mandalas and the visualization of deities and Buddhas.
Traditional Vajrayāna sources say that the tantras and the lineage of Vajrayāna were taught by Śākyamuni Buddha and other figures such as the bodhisattva Vajrapani. On the other hand, contemporary historians of Buddhist studies argue that Vajrayāna does not predate the tantric era of medieval India (c. 5th century CE onwards).[2]
Of course we all know our question for the contemporary historians of Buddhist studies: do you believe that trans women can be women?
Things don’t get that spicy, don’t fear–but the two do discuss the Lurianic, Luciferean, anti-Cosmic origins of the radical left, the rise of pop New Age occultism, common misconceptions about gnosticism, secret treaties, secret trees, and of course, Roseanne.
Pro-cosmic doesn’t even begin to do this justice really.

The Saint NYC: Under the Dome
The "Yankee Stadium” of gay discos, the legendary Manhattan venue known as The Saint was at the epicenter of homosexual subculture in the 1980s. The years of its operation closely mirrors the timeline of the AIDS crisis.
Please let it be known: in the 1970s-1980s, there existed urban centers where literally tens of thousands of homosexuals assembled on a weekly if not nightly basis. These were not the rinky-dink clubs, they were enormous palladiums, packed to the brim with actual gay people in real spaces. Does any such parallel exist today?
“The Saint Opens as AIDS looms” - https://thestarryeye.typepad.com/gay/2012/09/the-saint-opens-as-aids-looms-september-20-1981-.html
Each Disco II-era NYC nightlife hotspots catered to its own crowd. Unlike the Paradise Garage, whose crowd was also gay but largely black and latino, or Danceteria and The Pyramid Club, whose downtown crowds were perhaps a bit more diverse and arty, The Saint catered explicitly to white homosexual urbanites. The musclebound, close-cropped crew cut + mustachioed look that I have previously called the “ACT-UP Aesthetic” was very much expressed by patrons of this infamous discotheque.

BACKKLASH WORLDWIDE: backklash.org
When Dap Man for his appearance interviewed Poolhouse this summer on Zooted Thinkpad Posse, he was quite literally thinking, “Dap Man could be my cuz!!” Dap Man interviewed Poolhouse this summer, it was clear the Dap Man was not merely an enthusiastic fan, but a talented host and producer in his own right. Dap Man is someone who knew all the right questions to get the Poolhouse.pills dropping, it was also apparent almost immediately that Dap Man was a potential new Backklash Worldwide Operative (friend of the pod? I think we can do better). Dap Man is a whole ass MOOD: his chill disposition, his passion for and deep understanding of music, and his curious nature and natural storytelling abilities, all led Poolhouse to recruit Dap Man to join the program.
Now, pretty much every planet was in retrograde at the time of this recording, and Poolhouse’s technical ineptitude (and chronic adherence to CPT) could have derailed the entire the interview. But the magic of Dap Man is such that his sheer presence, his ability to summon tranquility brought order to the affair. Dap Man is a producer’s producer. Sadly, this did not translate into any sort of calming effect on dear Poolhouse, bless his heart, but he was able to deliver this competent, jovial interview in order to give you this chance to really get to know Dap Man After Dark.
Join Dap Man @metadatapiff and Poolhouse: two Mavens of the FUNK MUTATION, for this inter-galactic, inter-generational, old-fashioned shoot-the-shit-out. Dap Man expounds on his roots and origins, politics and culture, and vividly brings to life the stories of gis his life! Growing up with a based mom, being a teenage reactionary (slash Andre3000?), being black but not necessarily politically black, how getting covid (and Jussie Smollett) wrong changed him for the better, how the 5 Per Centers played a role in changing his life, and so much more. This is HCTB, baby! We do it all. Vaccines, Jay-Z, K Records, n-word (no hard R), CAR TALK, the Taliban..RHOSLC’s Mary Cosby?? This episode has it ALL.

Poolhouse has been on a rather dark sojourn of late, covering topics like AIDS and 9/11. But this episode is palette-cleansing partyline gabfest between your two favs, one that you won’t want to miss a moment of: Poolhouse is joined by his spiritual daughter, meme goddess, and the world’s #1 scene-adjacent poetess-influencer, class enemy Cassandra aka truth_enjoyer.
Poolhouse and Cassandra take on the world: exotic travels, why you should avoid rivers in England, Tilda Swinton in The Beach, the thing about the Crumps thing (false start), men who hate astrology, poster’s stigmata, and the thing about the Crumps thing (revisited). Poolhouse uncomfortably makes light of a tragic situation, and likely owes a fine nation a most sincere apology. The visionary duo hints at the orange vibeshift, but honestly, do not really elaborate. Something to do with censorship? Listen, you either get it (like @coldhealing), you do are just

HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH could not be more proud to share this super-sized, resource-rich special episode featuring independent investigator and medical anthropologist Nick (@pizzapicklespur).
I have followed Nick (aka St. Nick, aka Nick Petosky)’s work for almost two years now, and he has been fundamental in shaping my understanding of the role of biodefense in our present world. Terms like “Lab origin,” “Bioweapon,” etc. are employed frequently in pandemic counter-narratives, but many may wonder how these terms could ever make sense in the context of public health?
In this episode, Nick walks us through his incredibly thorough HIV Lab Origin deck. Learn the secret history of HIV that stretches back decades, well before the history you will find traced in more widely known sources like And the Band Played On. Nick’s full presentation is available for download in the notes below.
On the flipside, Nick and I discuss the material, and Nick shares some incredibly powerful anecdotes that will likely alter your perception of the “public health” apparatus.
If your “HIV truth” journey begins and ends with Duesberg, this episode is for you. If you are ready to take the biodefense blackpill, you couldn’t ask for better companions on that dark and winding trip than Nick and Poolhouse!
Be sure to check out the show notes, which I hope will be a valuable resource to those beginning this line of investigation.

There comes a certain point in the arc of every fake dissident podcast when they bring on a based tr*nny to undermine everything they have said and done before now. We could not be more thrilled at HERE COMES THE BACKKLASH to already achieve this great milestone! Poolhouse welcomes provocateur, cineaste, and backklash token doll Aimee, aka @basic_chanel.
Aimee was featured last spring on Thots and Prayers, in an episode that inspired this one:
Aimee and frequent guest Basil were featured in a debate earlier this summer that is a must listen:
Poolhouse and Aimee muse on their idiosyncratic place within the culture with respect to the rainbow mafia, before diving into an analysis of the Kubrick cannon. What can we glean from thinking about the works of Stanley Kubrick as a whole? Is he a prophet, or programmer? What can we make of all them clues? Also, Aimee rates Poolhouse’s transphobic antics.

If there is one thing about DJ POOLHOUSE, it is that he knows a hit when he hears one. And “ 2 LIVE CREW ” by FKAGOLDPONY is a HIT record. The track appears on their debut EP titled 1’s, released early this summer. Erik Harris (of Memorycult, Vampire Disco Club) and his brother Alex’s side project called FKAGOLDPONY suddenly became a Poolhouse obsession. From the syrupy, detached effervescence of “HEMINGWAY GIRL” to the plunderous emotional depths of “Luv RN,” FKAGOLDPONY’s work represented a refreshing range of styles that blended a straightforward pop sensibility with an esoteric, experimental flair. The Pony boys’ effortless style was very playful on the A-side, and surprisingly emotional on the flip. Each cut from 1’s is a banger. The songs are all distinct and hint at entirely different possibilities in the direction of their sound, yet work together seamlessly as a vibrant collection representing what the FKAGOLDPONY project was about.
After some initial setbacks (band drama, censorship regime, etc.), Poolhouse was thrilled to sit down with Erik last week to speak with the musical genius & co-creator of this beloved release. Who is FKAGOLDPONY? What inspired the fresh cuts that comprise the EP? Will we hear from them ever again? And what is it like being a publicly facing artist in this age of political coercion and restricted speech? Erik Harris tells it all to Poolhouse, who consumed Erik’s musical insights, industry anecdotes, and personal stories like they were discount 45’s at the record store.
Has the Seal of Fate 🔥 🦭🔥 already been placed upon FKAGOLDPONY’s legendary saga? Can their #1 fan, DJ POOLHOUSE, steer us all toward a timeline where the Harris brothers rekindle their artistic fires, and deliver unto the world the album they were born to make?
Anything is Possible…Time Will Tell.
Do yourself a favor and give 1’s by FKAGOLDPONY a spin, then join Poolhouse and Erik for the type of conversation you can not find anywhere else.
