In this heartfelt episode, I had the chance to reconnect with my dear friend and discuss the importance of Native American representation in media and the bonds of family. We reminisced about our shared experiences with my late uncle, Gary, who played a significant role in our lives. He instilled in us the importance of taking in the light and love in the darkness. We also took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the challenges we faced while trying to make a movie in grad school. Despite the tribalism, arrogance, entitlement, and lack of support we encountered, we found strength in our mentor, Adam Beach, and the power of music. We acknowledged the importance of overcoming adversity and the transformative effect of travel on our lives.
