  • Recognizing & Surviving Toxic & Abusive Relationships feat. Nenia Corcoran

When we think about abusive relationships our minds often go straight to physical abuse, but the reality is, that is not always the case. Abuse in relationships comes in all different forms and often isn't even recognized as abuse but instead seen as "normal." We are joined by Author and domestic abuse survivor Nenia Corcoran to discuss recognizing the signs and red flags of abuse ahead of time, how to avoid it and what to do if you become a victim of mental and/or physical abuse in a relationship. Nenia shares her story of how she didn't even realize she was in an abusive relationship for over a decade and what it took to finally realize it and get out. Nenia has since started writing young adult fiction novels to help her work through her past. Although her novels are fiction, she draws a lot from her own experiences and by doing so hopes it will help young people avoid going through what she did. Also, this is the last episode of season 2! Thank you to all our listeners and supporters and we can't wait to continue to bring you more new and amazing guests in season 3. We are kicking it off with a BANG! We are bringing you a special guest from a very popular Netflix show for episode 1... think you can guess who it is?

  • Connecting, projecting and loving life! feat. Nora Wendel

The experts say everything stems from experiences we all had during our childhood and as we continue to age we agree more and more with this theory. Nora Wendel, one of the leading worldwide experts of teaching Feminine Magnetism, Human connection and Authentic Relationships to women joins us to discuss the importance of getting in touch with our inner child, how to do so and why it is so important, especially as it relates to your love life. We also get real about projecting and why the issues we have with other people are usually actually just our own issues. Nora also shares her journey from living with chronic anxiety to living confidently, sexy and free. Nora gives us lots of enlightening information, but if you want even more, you should check out her new book, available now on Amazon. At the top of the show we give our two cents on the nonsense, "Love is Blind: After the Alter" episodes.

  • Sex Life vs. Real Life!

Like many, we were consumed by Netflix's fictional show 'Sex Life,' meaning we binged watched it in less than a week, how could you not?! The show was definitely a fun, sexy, guilty pleasure, but also got us thinking about our own REAL lives and past relationships. So much so that we wanted to unpack the show and how we related it to it in our own ways, discuss experiences we have had similar to Billie's (main female character), how we feel about our past lovers/lives, our thoughts on the way the characters mentalities were written and of course if we are team Coop or team Brad. We also give our thoughts on the ending and what we think it meant. Definitely some *spoiler alerts* in this ep so save this one until after you've watched the show. At the top of the show Lauren shares a story on stupidity and wants to know if you can relate

  • Women in Sports feat. Sabrina Razack

We welcome Researcher, Educator and soon to be Doctor, Sabrina Razack back to the show to talk about women and Trans-people in sports. Sabrina educates us on the inequalities, racism and general unfair treatment that unfortunately pollutes the professional female sports industry. With the amount of headlines popping up in the media surrounding women's sports right now, it is sometimes easy to get caught up in the wrong narrative, Sabrina shares different perspectives on the industry and how we as a society can help elevate and support pro-female athletes and their sports. We also get into the age old debate of whether men are actually stronger than women, therefore are better athletes, or are we just conditioned to believe they are. This is a jam packed episode that is sure to get you thinking. Lauren and Jess discuss plant casualties, Lauren's latest procedure and whether to watch the Netflix show 'Sex Life' with your partner or alone.

  • Keeping it real and chic! feat. Kimberley Marquis

With new Influencers and Content Creators popping up on social media daily, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to know who to follow for the kind of content you want. So many of new and old accounts are just trying to get a paycheque out of their posts and are lacking that relatability and authenticity most of us crave; enter 'The Chic Confidential' (TCC). We are chatting with one of our FAVE Influencers and we chose that term intentionally because we have truly been influenced by Kimberley Marquis many times, she is the creator of the wildly popular insta' account @thechicconfidential. Kimberley shares how becoming a content creator kind of happened by accident and actually started through scrapbooking, which led to a blog which ultimately led to Instagram. We talk about the importance of authenticity, relatability, working with the right brands and why you probably wont find success if you are just doing it for some quick cash (insider info: content creation rarely brings quick cash). We were drawn to TCC and Kim because of how she keeps her content relatable, friendly and authentic, her page is a fun and safe space for all women. Kim tells us why she thinks it is important to manage her own page and to always respond to every DM (trolling excluded), she believes in creating great content but also in community. Lauren and Jess give a quick recap of their long awaited reunion, #freebritney talk is back and Lauren shares some firsts for her!

  • What we wish we were taught in school!

There are many things that we wish we were taught in school and I am sure most people at one point or another have had the "if only I learned that sooner..." moment, we certainly have! This episode is a long time coming, as in almost every episode we make the comment that "if only we had been taught that in school," we would have been better equipped later in life. So we decided to share our thoughts and opinions on what we think should have been, should be and shouldn't be taught in school. We also fill you in on some changes to the show and an update on how we have been dealing with lockdown life lately.

  • Who the hell does HERspective think they are?!

Who in the hell does HERspective think they are? We wanted to do this episode to share who we are, why we started HERspective and our thoughts and personal opinions on what's happening in our country right now. We discuss some of our recent episodes and guests, the topic that peaked our interest so much that it spawned a podcast and why we are unapologetically ourselves. We are pretty much open books and we love to hear opinions and feedback, we are also always trying to learn and keep an open mind. As we mention in the show, if you hear something during a show that you want to school us on, reach out, we want to hear from you!
