  • HiddenTrack #92 GENTLEMEN'S CROW (Cameron James)

This week we catch up with Cameron James of the band GENTLEMEN'S CROW. Cameron gives us a glimpse into what drives him and the band's music. Cameron, Alex, Zach, and Jacob have created much more than a cool band but a movement, CORPUS CORVIS! It's a movement, a scene, and community based around the band and others like it. Taking an unconventional route to releasing their first full length album “APPARITiONS”, the band toured while sitting on a finished product to get the buzz started before giving the people what they wanted……the music!!!! Cameron’s story starts later in life with wanting to perform and create, but he is making up for the late start by going 100 miles per hour and creating works of art long the way. Join Cameron and I as we're “Howlin” with some “Comical” stories about the “Quandary” that is life.

  • HiddenTrack #91 CURTAIL (Jesse Sloan)

This week I had the pleasure of hanging out with Jesse Sloan of the super sonic band CURTAIL. The big-beat sound created by CURTAIL has led me to a word that may not exist but definitely needs to, NEWSTALGIC!!! CURTAIL finds the perfect balance between having a nostalgic sound and making it new to those who find it. When it comes to finding new ways to write and record, Jesse and the guys have found away to make it professional and get it done. Throughout the show we find out just how small the world is and how we can all connect through music. Great backstage drinking story you have to hear to understand the crash of 2020. I also may have let Jesse run the show on his own for a while. Join Jesse and I as we “Sway” on the “Porches” while we find it “Hard To Breathe” through the “Revelry.”

  • HiddenTrack #90 CHRIS SIMPSON (Mineral-The Gloria Record-ZooKeeper-Mountain Time)

This week I had the great pleasure of talking to Chris Simpson of MINERAL, THE GLORIA RECORD, ZOOKEEPER and MOUNTAIN TIME. Chris’s career in creating music  has had some twists and turns along the way, but one thing remained the same, his love of the music. The stories told throughout this episode are eye opening, funny and heartfelt. Chris’s passion for music shines through with his want for never wanting to stop writing songs, even if he is alone in a room and the songs never get out. This episode gave me a glimpse behind the curtain of someone who’s music I admire deeply. Join Chris and I as we “Become All Things” while searching for “Empty Graves” “On Madison Way.”

  • HiddenTrack #89 RIGBI (John Irizarry and Brian Cornish)

This week I travel far to meet up with the next band on the show, one town over in New Jersey! I get to chat with John and Brian of the band RIGBI. Throughout this episode you get a full glimpse into the Jersey ball busting we are famous for. The band RIGBI  has taken to a version of music creation through YouTube. Forming the band at an extremely young age and taking advantage of the tools afforded to them, RIGBI  has gained a following through their music videos. The band has had the distinct opportunity to create a song with one of their idols, Dave Depper of Death Cab for Cutie. Join me in welcoming John and Brian to the show with our riveting discussion about talk about "The Night We Met" and why "I'm A Mess In Winter."

  • HiddenTrack #88 NATE BERGMAN

On this week’s episode I chat with the soulful NATE BERGMAN. I had the distinct pleasure to see Nate perform at a time when he replaced an icon on a show. Within two minutes I forgot who I was there to see, because Nate simply won over and controlled the room.  Nate breaks down the major differences between his solo work and his formative years being a part of the band LIONIZE. Nate and I discuss the punk rock roots of country, his cool parents, and intimate show feelings, among other things. Join Nate and I as we wave goodbye, "America, It's Not You, It's Me."

  • HiddenTrack #87 FUTURE TEENS (Daniel Radin & Amy Hoffman)

This Week I catch up with Daniel Radin and Amy Hoffman of the transformative indie rock band FUTURE TEENS. Listening to the music from FUTURE TEENS gives me faith that I can move forward in life with a smile. Not only because I found something new and refreshing, but I can carry the songs with me wherever I roam. Amy and Daniel tell some great stories bout their life, from one of them working as a musician on a cruise ship (”You Oughta Know”) to band names evolving. FUTURE TEENS can be summed up with the words Amy so elegantly stated, “Making music you're proud of with people you love”. There's also a great story about the escalation of a TikTok argument!!! Join Amy, Daniel and I as we dive into some “Sensitive Sessions.”

  • HiddenTrack #86 STARMARKET (Fredrik Brandstrom)

This week I had the great pleasure to hang out with an artist I have followed for over 27 years. That person is Fredrik Brandstrom of the influential Swedish band STARMARKET. I was lucky enough to have someone hand me the debut STARMARKET album way back in 1995 and I have been a fan ever since. Following Fredrik’s career closely it was clear that he and the band kept up with what was going in the music scene’s around the world. STARMARKET constantly evolved their sound with the times and broke those trends when needed. The story of growing up in a small town in Sweden to two piano playing parents would lead Fredrick to other instruments, so as to not be compared to his parents. Thank god for that, cause without that want; there would be no STARMARKET for the world to enjoy. Join Fredrik and I as we discuss the process of finding new music around the world back in the day and what its like when you find your scene.

  • HiddenTrack #85 MOTHERFOLK (Nathan Dickerson and Bobby Paver)

This week we catch up with Nathan Dickerson and Bobby Paver of the scintillating indie rock band Motherfolk. The story of Motherfolk starts with stories of values and balance, then moves on in life broadening the horizons of the people who listen. Nate and Bobby have similar yet different stories to share with listeners. How do you book your first show? With a little white lie of course. With that little fib, Motherfolk was able to create a passionate following with their live performance. Throughout the touring life and sharing the stage with people, Nate learned a valuable lesson, “Not Everyone Gets Good.” Understanding that made them work harder and focus on what’s important, the art!!! Join Bobby, Nathan and I as we try to keep our “Head Above Water” as the “Anchor” seeks to pull us down while the “Sunlight” fades.

  • HiddenTrack #84.5 ELLIOTT - Part 2 (Chris Higdon)

ELLIOTT - Part #2  THE REUNION
This week I had the great opportunity to sit down with Chris Higdon from one of the most pivotal bands in my life . The band was called ELLIOTT  out of Louisville, KY and their sound was like nothing I had ever heard before. When you are trying to find your way in life and struggle to be who you are, you start searching. My search lead me to ELLIOTT. The music spoke to me and conveyed all of the emotion I was feeling at that time in my life. ELLIOTT showed me that I was not alone in my fight to carry on and become the person I am today. ELLIOTT's contribution to the early post hardcore/emo scene can be summed up in one word MONSTROUS!!! It's not often you get the opportunity to tell people what they meant to you and I was lucky enough to do just that this week. Chris shared his stories of growing up and finding his way through the local scene. Chris's recollection of certain moments in his musical career are a must listen, and the moment things came full circle are eerie. Please join me welcoming Chris to the HIDDENTRACKS family.
