High Five: The Podcast

In this very special episode, Q takes his kids to see Cats and somehow doesn't get arrested for child abuse! Instead, he recorded a movie review episode with them. J hasn't heard it yet, so instead, he looked up a cat puns blog and is going to try and shove as many of them into this description as possible.

The purr-fect place to start any movie review and really dig your claws in is by looking through the night-vision eyes of kittens who are experiencing it for the fur-st time. A movie this bad may make you cat-atonic, but the pawsome conversation of Q and his litter will make you fur-get the nightmarish CGI and the clawful purr-formance of Taylor Swift. So, pull up a litter box and sniff some catnip and let's listen to this great episode together right Meow!

What has stone walls, a giant penny, 10,000 bats, and 2 podcasters surrounded by leather-formed nipples? That's right, Q and J breaking into the Bat Cave and trying on all of Batman's suits! We were so excited by the screen test reveal of the new Robert Pattinson (R-Bats?) ((Robert Bat-inson??)) costume from Matt Reeves' "The Batman" that we wanted to check out what all that those codpieces and perfect rubber Bat-buttocks had to offer. Turns out, it was a lot!

As always, there are tangents and bad impressions galore, but mostly we're confused by the Batsuit featuring assless chaps. Why would you ever need that? So exposed. Follow us through the Bat-closet as we explore the Batsuits of old, and find out if we get arrested live on air!

It's Valentines and that means that people are talking about what they love and the people they love. Q and J decided to get into the spirit and dive into the movies and entertainment we've been loving lately. Find out which cities Q has been tormenting and learn more about J's TV habits than you ever wanted to know. We end with our lists of the Top 5 Things We Are Loving Right Now and we hope you add to your lists!

We're sorry, Fivers, but your princess is in another castle, and it definitely took J and Q searching through a lot of castles to find enough good movies for a Top 5 Video Game Adaptations episode. In honor of the release of Sonic the Hedgehog, we decided it's time, once and for all, to talk about video game movies. Select your character and Press Start to re-live the majesty of the 1990s and 2000s when a new video game movie was released almost every year...and Uwe Boll only directed 90% of them!

In this episode, we help you finally learn the difference between Paul W.S. Anderson, Wes Anderson, and Paul Thomas Anderson once and for all, and lead you on an 8-bit adventure into the dregs of American cinema. Are there any gems to be found in the sale bin at Wal-Mart? This week, High Five: The Podcast is jumping out of your speakers and bringing the experience straight to your face! We were inspired by Disney's recent news of launching real-life movie experiences with some of their films, but instead of listing the movies we'd want to live through, we're counting down the Top 5 Live Movie Experiences We'd NEVER Want to Do. 

We'll be talking about favorite movie experiences as well, but mainly we're going to want to avoid WW2 and a lot of American history. By the time this episode is over, you'll feel like we're part of your family. We'll even be coming over for Thanksgiving dinner to make things uncomfortable!

Most movies star human beings, but that's SO boring! This week, J and Q are taking a trip to the proverbial movie zoo and counting down the Top 5 Movies Starring Animals. Along the way, we realize how little we remember about the book Animal Farm, but definitely remember the weird movies that were made from it, and try and figure out how much Willy was really worth freeing.

When we're not in the mud with pigs and lost pets, Q and J hypothesize what Bad Boys for Life is all about and how much better it would be if Jacob Tremblay was packing heat in it. Who could have assumed that when Powerman 5000 was singing about worlds colliding back in 1999 that they were predicting the entertainment behemoth that Disney has become, especially after their recent acquisition of a majority of the Fox libraries. This week, Q and J put on their pop culture prognosticator hats and dive into the Disney/Fox merger and identify the Top 5 Disney/Fox Merger Benefits that we are looking forward to. Yes, Powerman, this IS what it feels like when worlds collide!

Along the way, we dive into the mysteries surrounding The New Mutants and what we think the future could be for Deadpool and other X-Men as well as create the word #Disniversification. If you listen closely, you can even hear Disney issue us Cease and Desist orders in real-time. It's a party and everyone is invited, except for all the Fox employees working overtime for their Disney overlords.

The Fivers speak! The end has come as the beginning begins while we end.....oh, nevermind, our first show of this year is the finale of our Star Wars Holiday Special! And just like Lando Calrissian, we're bringing the whole gang as Amanda and Haley join Q and J for an in-depth discussion about the OG Star Wars trilogy and our thoughts on the most recent batch of movies. The Life Day festivities culminate in our spoiler-filled conversation about Rise of Skywalker!
