Hey guys! In todays episode I chat with the wonderful Trin!
a 44 year old mum of two, Trin has been married for almost 25 years and enjoys being in nature, yoga, anything creative, going out for meals- especially breakfast... (hello eggs benny!) This super woman has been through a lot! After being the victim of sexual abuse from a neighbour from ages 7 through 10 (ish). It wasn't until being triggered 35 years later that she started to unpack and deal with everything that she went through.
Diagnosed with delayed onset PTSD, depressed and anxious mood and adjustment disorder (aka situational depression) She has also suffered from flashbacks, night terrors, hyper-vigilance, Dissociation, Panic attacks and anxiety, This is alongside a bunch of other symptoms -All settling now she is dealing with her trauma! Absolutely incredible.
She talks us through what she went through in order to press charges in New Zealand, who has helped her along the way and what she does to keep herself mentally well now.
I am so grateful for Trin being willing to share her story of what she went through as we both say the dissociation aspect is super interesting to consider.
My wish is that absolutely no-one will resonate with her story but sadly I know this will not be the case, i truly know this episode is going to help so many people out there.
Huuuge thanks to you Trin!
