Hey guys! In todays episode I chat with the incredible Sophie!

I feel as though we walked into this recording as strangers and left as best friends haha. Sophie is a 29 year old Holistic Counsellor who’s been diagnosed with endometriosis, epilepsy (depending on which specialist you ask), coeliac disease, PTSD (from childhood trauma) and unofficially diagnosed with PTSD from my medical journey too Her story starts at the onset of puberty at age 12 when she started developing debilitating symptoms alongside her period. After being told for years that her 'pain was normal' and 'everyone has period pain' she takes us through her decision to have a hysterectomy, the hurdles that preceded it and how she is today.

It was quite the lengthy journey from point A to B and we discuss how her mental health was affected and how she felt at her absolute lowest point.

The episode is jam packed full of emotion and there is a lot to learn. In Australia 1 in 9 women and those assigned female at birth have endometriosis.

Hey friends!

In todays episode I open myself up more than I ever have before. This is the most vulnerable I have ever been. I've been very open about the fact that self harm has been a part of my journey but to sit down and record not only the episode but the accompanying diary entry was a lot. I truly hope that by opening up like this and creating an honest conversation around mental health and self harm i will give another person the courage or 'permission' to do so too. We are stronger together.

I thoroughly enjoyed having this incredible woman over for a chat. In todays episode we talk through different aspects and events from her childhood that have had an impact on her as an adult and how she feels about those looking back with hindsight today. She talks through her diagnosis with thyroid cancer in 2018, her undiagnosed auto immune disease and how it is living with health anxiety. It was great to hear about the different ways she has detoxified her life in order to take care of her physical AND mental health. I think you are really going to get a lot out of this one.

He walks us through his journey with addiction to alcohol and cocaine and the recovery that followed. From hiding his usage, ultimatums from loved ones and going to rehab he tells us what it looked like and speaks about his path to eight years of sobriety (and counting!)

I have to say, I think this is the episode that I have learned the most in so far, and I hope that it may be the same for many of you listening.

Hey guys! In todays episode I chat with Zoe AKA ZMac!

Zoe is one of my closest friends and part of my incredible Wednesday crew. She is a wonderful friend, mother and kindy teacher and loves cooking, music (always my 'gig friend') and craft beer.

At age 30 Zoe was diagnosed with Alopecia, an auto-immune disease that affects approximately 1-2% of Australians. She talks us through what that was like and how the medications she was prescribed for it affected her mental health. Then last year, at age 35, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

Watching this incredible woman go through so much in such a short time has taught me so much. There are a lot of takeaways in this episode so please listen, there is a lot to learn.

Hey guys! In todays episode I chat with the amazing Josh Lee!

This guy is an absolute legend and well known advocate for breaking down the stigma of mental health here in South Australia.

Josh grew up on a farm in a small town on the south coast of New South Wales, with a love of sports and the outdoors. Growing up in a home with his mum and sister, where sharing his emotions was encouraged, was quite the contrast to the male dominated workplaces he went on to experience.

He talks about a particular evening which is proof as to why it is so important to reach out to our family and friends when we miss them or if we are worried about them. I think you will find the way he talks about mental health VS mental wellbeing very interesting also.

Josh spent 9 years as an ambassador for @livinorg and is a bloody inspiration. He was one of the very first people that I knew I wanted to have on my podcast and he was honestly the first person to throw his own hand up. I am so grateful for this guy.

For those of you who had been following along on my @hightidelowtideau instagram page you will have seen his face along the way as he helped me set up my podcast studio in my kitchen lol. He has been an integral part of this journey and it was my honour to have him as my very first guest.

A footy boy and a musician Fran talks a lot about how as a man he was taught not to show emotions growing up and how this influenced him as an adult. We chat about the ups and downs he has had along the way- including fist fights, mismatched psychologists and medication.

Fran is super open about what he has been through and I am so proud of how far he has come.
