Malaysia’s shift away from fossil fuels is gaining pace, alongside measures like the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act to drive more efficient energy use. At the same time, rising demand, volatile global markets and pressure on fuel subsidies are shaping how quickly that transition can happen.
