Being highly sensitive has both negative and positive aspects. However, we haven't been taught how to utilize our heightened sensitivity to navigate the world more effectively. But that is about to change. We must now learn.
With an increasing number of "1000-year weather events" that defy statistical explanations as mere anomalies, we can no longer deny the changing nature of our world. It is changing, and unfortunately, not in our favor. We are confronted with the realization that the weather and our ability to survive it may be far more terrifying than dealing with an old narcissistic boss. We may finally understand why our ancestors believed that angry gods controlled the weather.
Most of us have been stripped of the knowledge about the incredible gifts that accompany our heightened sensing. We have been taught to devalue and perceive it as a weakness. However, science has consistently shown that "the meek will inherit the Earth," and by "meek," they mean the highly sensitive. Nature consistently selects for intelligence and heightened sensitivity above all else.
It is time to reframe how we view our heightened sensitivity. It is not just something some of us have to contend with; it is something all of us will need to survive.
