Port Adelaide has announced its succession plan in the coaching ranks. Ken Hinkley will coach out the season with Josh Carr poised to take over ahead of the 2026 season, a decision that's been bubbling away in the background since the end of 2022 when Carr returned to Port Adelaide.

The Gold Coast SUNS have used this point of the year to announce its wishes and hopes to reach September before failing to deliver on its promises. This time around they haven't said anything of the sort, is this a maturing of the SUNS under Dimma?
