Though the armistice was signed at 5am on November 11th 1918, the fighting continued until 11am killing nearly 11,000 more men.---This kicked off the veterans appreciation portion of this program that also featured a poem from Charles Michael Province, words from President Dwight Eisenhower, and listeners as they called in with special words of appreciation in honor of all veterans.
