  • Thanking Ourselves (Attitude of Gratitude)

Today I wanted to speak about self gratitude and why we should say “thank you” to ourselves. Now when you first hear that, you may be thinking that it sounds self-centered or egotistical to thank yourself. However on today’s episode of Attitude of Gratitude I want to highlight a few critical reasons why you should implement this powerful practice.

Over the weekend I was tempted to not show up on a promise that I made to myself. Sometimes it is easier to break commitments to yourself when we would never do that to someone we care about. When I became aware of what I was doing, I decided to keep the promise I had made and after doing so, I actually took the time to acknowledge what I had done and thanked myself for showing up.

Today I share with you why this practice will change your life and how it lays a foundation for you to become a happier and more well rounded individual. You cannot love others and show up for others until you show that same love towards yourself. Practicing self-love lays a foundation for all the other relationships in your life

We hope that this episode encourages you to thank yourself and acknowledge the ways you have showed up for yourself. We would love to hear from you! What do you think about this practice? Do you thank yourself? Connect with us in our private Facebook group Hope to Recharge because as always...together is better!

  • Highly Sensitive People with Patricia Young

Is being sensitive a bad thing? From an early age we are told to “suck it up” and to “stop crying” and are not given permission to lean into the natural emotions that we feel. As a result, when we are adults we often see being “sensitive” as a negative thing without seeing it as the GIFT it really is.

This week I had the honor of connecting with therapist and coach for Highly Sensitive People, Patricia Young. Patricia shares with us why being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) is something we should see as a “super power” and why we should unapologetically OWN who we are .

Patricia shares with us her personal story, and how she came to the conclusion that she was called to work specifically with Highly Sensitive People. She educates about the trait of High Sensitivity as well as the strengths of Highly Sensitive People; how to navigate relationships as a Highly Sensitive Person, and how to recognize and validate our needs as HSPs.

We hope this episode encourages you no matter who you are, or what type of personality you have to be proud of it. We should never apologize or be ashamed of our feelings, and if you are someone that feels more deeply than those around you, that is actually a beautiful thing. As Patricia says, “We need you!”.

After listening to this episode, connect with us in our private Facebook community, Hope to Recharge and let us know what you think, because as always together is better!.

  • Gratitude is a Choice (Attitude of Gratitude)

Have you ever had a strong expectation that something was going to turn out a certain way only to be disappointed that it went in a completely different direction? Maybe your hopes were up that something would happen and when it didn’t, you were left extremely frustrated.

In today’s episode I share a new perspective on dealing with change and how we can find gratitude in moments when things turn out differently than what we expect.

This past week, I was in Israel at a Think Tank working on a new product that I am developing. I went into the meetings with a certain expectation of their outcomes and was confident that my ideas would manifest in a certain way. When they did not, I was incredibly grateful because I truly believe things were happening FOR me and were leading me down a better path.

I share with you this story because it is important for us to take a big picture approach in looking at our lives and even the disappointments that we face. Although that may sound like a daunting task, we can slowly develop this mindset through a daily gratitude practice. Gratitude changes us from the inside out!

I hope today’s episode encourages you to shift to gratitude not only when things are going as you anticipated but also when things are difficult and you might be tempted to feel frustrated and down. The more you choose gratitude the more it becomes a part of you. Amazing things will happen for you...when you live a life of gratitude.

We would LOVE to support you and be a part of your journey. Find us on Facebook at Hope to Recharge. Because as always, together is better!

  • Rewiring Your Brain for Mental Health with Dr. Rick Hanson

Can you teach yourself to heal? How much power do we really have over our brains and can we truly experience long lasting change? This week I had the incredible honor of connecting with psychologist and New York Times best-selling author, Dr. Rick Hanson.

After reading his books, listening to his amazing podcast, and watching his talks I reached out to Dr. Hanson to see if he would be willing to come on the show and share with us about his research around the power of our minds and how we can be more active in our own change. In this interview, we talk about the “brain-change” process and how powerful the role of learning is in our lives.

Dr. Hanson says that we are “all scientists” and gives us a step-by-step process of things we can do TODAY to experience better mental health. He encourages us that each day is a gift and we can continually learn and grow and become better versions of ourselves through two simple steps. He says that learning is a power but knowing HOW to learn is a “super power”.

We also dig into being compassionate to yourself and he gives fantastic advice to those who are deeply struggling with mental illness and what they can do with this brain-change process while experiencing symptoms. This is such a powerful conversation that is jam-packed full of helpful advice and empowering research around our mental health.

We would love to hear from you! What do you think about Dr. Hanson’s research? What can you implement? Head over to our private Facebook community, Hope to Recharge. We would love to hear your thoughts and support you in your mental health journey! Because as always, together is better.

  • One Moment of Gratitude Leads to the Next (Attitude of Gratitude)

For the past several months we have been producing Attitude of Gratitude on Thursdays to encourage you to invite gratitude into your life as a daily practice. Unfortunately, I have seen that there are still so many people who are hesitant to practice gratitude because they simply do not believe that it will work. In today’s episode, I share with you exactly how one moment of gratitude WILL slowly change your life.

This past week my small child was sick, and although I had to cancel a FULL day of appointments and meetings, that I was actually looking forward to, I STILL felt immense gratitude and abundance. How? I truly believe that this was a result of the continual practice of gratitude in my life.

Look for gratitude. When you do you will start experiencing it. When you experience it you will start sharing it and slowly it will not only affect your life and bring massive abundance in your day, but it will also heavily influence those around you. Gratitude is like a magnet for positivity!

Become hyper aware of moments of gratitude in your day. Let that lead you to joy. Open your eyes, even to the small things you might sometimes overlook. Your life will slowly start changing and this will give you a powerful tool in your mental health tool belt that you can use when you are really struggling.

We would love to connect with you in our private Facebook group, Hope to Recharge. We are here to be your support and stand in your corner in 2020. Together is better!

  • Religion and Mental Health with Calvin Wayman

He is the author of Fish Our of Water, a mastermind facilitator, podcast host, and successful entrepreneur, but Calvin Wayman openly admits that it has not always been easy and even he struggles with mental health issues.

I reached out to Calvin after being so moved by some of his raw and vulnerable posts on social media about his mental health journey. He authentically shares with his audience both on social platforms and on his podcast, Curious with Calvin Wayman, about his mental health journey and even about the suicidal thoughts that he has struggled with.

Calvin openly shares with us about growing up in fundamental Mormonism and how leaving his religion as a grown man has impacted him on a very deep level. We dig into both religion’s impact on mental health and also its impact on personal relationships. Calvin shares with us about how his upbringing felt like an “invisible leash” and how he found the courage to tune into his own intuition and make decisions that were more authentic to him.

We also dig into the mental health struggles of an entrepreneur and why it is so important to share your journey with others and not be bound by the stigma around mental illness. Calvin even asks me some powerful questions about my own healing journey and what it looks like to not only forgive others but to forgive yourself.

This is a fantastic episode for those who may feel like they may have suppressed wounds from their past that are keeping them back from healing. Calvin shares very practical tips that anyone can learn from despite where they are at.

  • How to Level UP Your Mental Health in 2020 (Attitude of Gratitude)

Here we are! The first Attitude of Gratitude for the New Year! Let’s start this year with an abundance of gratitude for all that we went through in 2019. What happened to you this past year that made you a better person? What was something you feared in 2019 that ended up being a huge blessing? We have so much to be grateful for!

Gratitude is key to our mental health. It creates abundance, joy, and connection. It will unlock everything you need to overcome anything you are struggling with and help you become more mentally strong. My wish for you this year is to embrace gratitude at another level.

Today I share with you a lesson God taught me about gratitude, how something I feared became a HUGE blessing, and what we are doing for our community this year to help you all in your journey. Listen as I share about a powerful opportunity to connect with each of you on a deeper level and help you become the very BEST version of yourself this year.

If you are ready to level up in your mental health journey, if you believe in HOPE, if you want to explore another level of gratitude and step into abundance this year, check out our Hope to Recharge Mastermind at: www.hopetorecharge.com/mastermind. Because as ALWAYS..together truly is better.

  • Finding the RIGHT Therapy (Solo: Part 2)

As 2019 is coming to a close I wanted to share with you more about my mental health journey. The intention of this episode is to provide you with actionable steps and resources that will help you level up your mental wellness as we embark on a new year.

This is part two of our three part series were I am coming to you solo, sharing my personal story of battling with depression and anxiety. We talk about how I was able to overcome this struggle that was threatening every aspect of my life.

You will hear how “I found hope” in my psychiatrist's office and how important it is to find the right therapist for you. I also share what I wish I would have done differently from the beginning when choosing a therapist and why I believe now more than ever that physical health is so important to our mental and emotional health.

I walk you through step by step my journey and how it evolved from simply seeking therapy to adding in tools like yoga, meditation, and community. I hope this episode encourages you to “find the right cocktail” that works for you and what you are going through. We are all so unique and so as I share my personal experience I encourage you to fight for your own story.

We are here if you need anything. Whether it is a question about an  episode or if you simply need a community who understands what you are going through, find us in our private Facebook group Hope to Recharge, because together is always better!
