What actually makes us happy?
In this episode, I’m diving into the real science of happiness with the the groundbreaking research from Yale’s most popular course of all time, “The Science of Happiness and Well-Being” by Dr. Laurie Santos.
I found this course during a season when, on the outside, things were fine but on the inside, I was really struggling. I had already hit a version of rock bottom, but mentally, I was still fighting to feel like me again as I was preparing to become a mom.
That moment sparked a mission: to understand the actual science, the psychology, neuroscience, and chemistry behind how to actually feel good and be happy and what I discovered completely changed the way I think about happiness and how I live my life.
In this Mental Health Awareness Month episode, we’re unpacking:
- Why the things we think will make us happy (money, a better body, a new relationship) usually don’t
- How your brain is wired to misjudge happiness and what to do about it
- What studies say about money and happiness
- Why your brain can’t stop comparing and how much it’s effecting you
- How our society sets us up to chase the wrong things
- My personal journey from surviving to actually enjoying life again
- and more...
If you’ve ever felt like you aren’t as happy as you could be, or maybe even that life looks good on paper but like something is missing, this episode is for you, with science to back it up.
