Horrifying History

One hundred and ten years ago, someone carrying an axe entered a home through an unlocked door late one night. They walked past one room which inside lay two sleeping young girls, and then snuck upstairs where they slipped past another room where four more young children were also asleep. The individual then moved into the next room where a husband and wife lay. By the next morning; six were dead and today we are still trying to figure out why, and by who.

Just a heads up here my dear listeners…today we will be talking about the death of both adults and children, possible abuse, and graphic crime scenes. Listener discretion is advised.

To all of the parents out there - I salute you. Raising a child is extremely challenging, even in the best of times. Emotions and behaviours rapidly change as children grow, and learn about the world around them.

Children just like adults feel sad, anxious, upset, or even aggressive at times. But in most cases, this is typical in a child’s development. Sometimes though, it is not. Many mental disorders start in childhood. From anxiety disorders, ADHD, to depression and PTSD - many adults who reach out for mental health treatment realize that their issues started in childhood, and wish they had help sooner.

But there are times that a child develops issues, and they are not properly dealt with. There are also times that people do not see the signs early enough, and it results in disaster.

Here’s a heads up for today’s episode my dear listeners…today we will be talking about murder and abuse that involves children. Listener discretion is advised.

In 1966, two UFO enthusiasts traveled to a hill in Rio De Janeiro to make contact with aliens. Three days later, their bodies were found.

When I originally thought of telling you all about the real stories behind the Disney-fied versions of fairytales, I had no idea what you all would think. I am happy to say that you loved hearing the original versions, as much as I loved telling them to you.

The tales behind the Disney versions are full of darkness and death. They give us a view of the ideologies and biases of the times that they were written, but sometimes the bias is actually on Disney’s part.

Even though Disney wants us to think that all women are delicate, but strong princesses - that is not the truth. They want us to think that all men are valiant, but they are not. Good and evil are not as black and white as Disney makes things out to be. Not everyone lives happily ever after in a castle with their true loves.

Gather around my dear listeners...its time for another story.

In today’s society, many serial killers are thought about as terrifying monsters. Many try to dissect a serial killer’s actions to attempt to figure out why they did what they did. The thing that is terrifying though is the fact that many serial killers were never caught. It is horrifying to think that these people may be still out there, and could still be active. What if they are someone we know?

As a heads up my dear listeners, today we will be talking about graphic murder scenes for both adults and children. We also will be speaking about assault, murder, graphic crime scenes, and sexual assault. Listener discretion is advised.

People are drawn to mysteries. They love trying to interpret clues, and use their own imaginations to try to figure out what really happened. But sometimes; all the clues and imagination in the world cannot bring us to an answer, and it is these cases that remain unsolved.

When the circus comes to town; many get very excited. Circus’s are advertised as “fun for all ages”, and provide entertainment that you wouldn’t normally see. But in the case of a circus that went to Toronto in 1855 - it was not fun. In fact, it resulted in the start of changing the political structure of the city itself.

I am quite often asked what I think the most haunted place is. Many guess it is a cemetery, but that’s not what I think. Ghosts are said to appear in a location due to emotion…they were happy there or perhaps they died there. The thing is that both of these do not always apply to a cemetery, but they do apply to hospitals.

Many people take their last breaths in a hospital, and because of that I believe that these places are some of the most haunted places around.

There are some true crime cases that when you hear about them - you don’t forget them. They are just that horrible. To me, I can’t even wrap my head around how people can do some of the things they do. Even worse is how they think they could get away with it.

A heads up here my dear listeners; today we are talking about two very bad murder cases. We also will be talking about various types of abuses, animal abuse, cannibalism, and graphic crime scenes. Listener discretion is advised.

In today’s news it seems that every day there is a new story about climate change. Global warming has been scientifically proven to be altering our planets weather patterns, which results in some terrifying weather events.

A great example of this happened in British Columbia in Canada in late 2021. They received a month’s worth of rain over two days leaving the area flooded. Thousands of people were stranded, and infrastructure was damaged. Entire communities were evacuated, and roads were washed out. The food supply chain was disrupted which affected several provinces. But just like others who have suffered from severe weather events, people always somehow find a way to continue on. But there are some weather events that can’t be explained by global warming. In fact, there are some that are thought to be more supernatural than environmental.
