You've heard from these two before when we aired one of their Episodes on the show supporting Black Lives Matter. We had a blast chatting with Abriana Johnson and Caitlin Gooch, hosts of the Young Black Equestrians The Podcast. Together these two are unstoppable. They are on a mission to create a more inclusive horse industry while simultaneously improving North Carolina's youth literacy rates.
We've talked a lot about taking messy massive action in your business. These two are incredible examples of what diving in the deep end can achieve. From a starting podcast about trail rides and campouts to interviewing some of the horse industry's biggest names, these two are getting it done, and it's incredible to watch.

Support the showThere are so many things that I cannot do in the saddle, and my jerkbrain tends to focus on the gaps in my riding repertoire instead of my actual skills, which aren’t all that bad.
Still, when I’m around talented riders, I feel like such a hack. And yet, here I am, bringing along a young Thoroughbred practically by myself. The only thing stopping me from being one of those talented riders I so admire, is me. Well, my jerkbrain.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting Tik Maynard for a clinic at a farm nearby. A friend of mine owns the stable where we held the clinic, so we hosted the event together. I put it together, got the clinician, promoted it, organized all of the entries and registrations, and my friend turned her stable into a magical, welcoming place. It was great!
Of course, Tik Maynard is a quality human being. You sorta need to be if you’re going to convince horses to be awesome… and he does that without even thinking about it. Do you want to know why Tik has such a powerful and effective influence on the horses he trains?
It’s because he thinks he does. Listen in!

HORSES IN THE MORNING Episode 2537 – Show Notes and Links:
Most horses that we come across have already been taught a vast majority of the things they know through traditional training. These horse's are often referred to as crossover horses. We are shifting our focus to positive reinforcement, how do we move forward? I discuss how to move forward and recognizing when it would be best to retrain a behavior.
On today's show we ask why mares are often underestimated, breed of the show is the rag doll cat, in critter nutrition we offer tips for the overweight dog and in coffee klatch we ask If Your Horse or Dog was a Human, What Would be His or Her Favorite Beverage?
