How do you get extraordinary results? The answer may surprise you. Has the world progressed since 1960? Of course. Many think it’s because we do everything differently. In reality we just built on the successes and mistakes from past generations to get to where we’re at today. We humbled ourselves and realized we didn’t know everything. We learned from people more experienced than us. Then we applied those same principles with new technology, thus leading to increased experience and skill. Each industry progresses by building on the past. How can you apply this into your sales? Get yourself a mentor, humble yourself, and experiment with what they tell you to do. Then once you start to see results, continue to experiment and build on what they taught you, all the while being open to learning new strategies and tactics. The formula is simple. Just be humble.

In the culture we live in today we often look for immediate results. That’s great, but we often have really high expectations that can’t reasonably be reached. Instead, if we just decided to apply the same strategies consistently over the course of the next year we’d see that incredible result we’re looking for. We’d see the Multiplicity Effect in action.

Many salespeople send one cold email and wait for a response. What they don’t understand is most emails actually go unread and many emails that were read go without a response, even if the potential client was interested. They don’t want to make a decision. This the urgent need to follow up quickly and consistently. The hotel that stays top of mind tends to win.

Sales is a numbers game. It always has been and it always will be. This episode explains a concept I’ve learned from Alex Hormozi about sales. He teaches that people vastly underestimate the amount of outreach necessary to make a sale. I couldn’t agree more. This episode discusses how to make that outreach easier on yourself. Virtually no one in the hotel industry is utilizing this simple secret.

Sometimes companies don’t travel enough to merit a corporate rate. These companies shouldn’t be overlooked though. They can still be super valuable assets to finding companies who will stay with you a lot. I call this referral method, bundling.

Scared of rejection? Over the years I’ve acquired a few different tips and tricks to get over my own fear of rejection.

Stop beating your head against the wall trying to compete head to head against bigger brands. Find your target market niche and stick to it. It’ll change everything.

Is brick & mortar dead? This is a really bad question. The real question is, “why is brick & mortar losing the online battle?”
