NFL Preseason action continued over the weekend, and the guys discuss the notable rookies that took the field. Bears fans got their first look at #1 overall pick Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels got an opportunity to shine against the Jets, and J.J. McCarthy & Bo Nix both made their NFL Debuts. They go on to discuss biggest takeaways, as well as what these players may bring to the league. 

[29:30] – USA Women’s Basketball Takes Gold in Paris

The guys discuss team USA taking home yet another Gold Medal in Women’s Basketball, continuing a streak that began at the 1996 Games in Atlanta. This Olympics started off in controversy with Caitlin Clark being left off the team, and they finished with the Stars and Stripes getting the gold once again.

The guys continue on to discuss how much women’s sports was really showcased at the 2024 Olympics following their discussion about USA Women’s Basketball. This included dominant performances by Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, USA Women’s Soccer and USA Women’s Basketball

Mike and Mike break down some of the biggest storylines coming out of both NFL Training Camps and Preseason Games, including Trey Lance’s Preseason performance for the Dallas Cowboys. They go onto discuss some notable names within the Rams system, such as Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Stetson Bennett, and then bounce back to ask what the future of Trey Lance is with the Dallas Cowboys. Dad Prescott’s contract is up in the air, CeeDee Lamb is dealing with contract issues, is it all just for show and attention in Dallas? Or is Jerry Jones fumbling the bag?
