House of Comics

Welcome to House of Comics #27! This week we focus on new comic book characters and their trajectories. We talk about their potential to tell stories in the comics as well as their value as a character in other mediums outside of comics. We discuss Punchline, Knull, and just about everything in between. Some serious, some fun, but all were in good spirit. We also breakdown some news topics and update you on everything we read last week. Don’t forget to follow us on IG: houseofcomicsgo - Twitter: @HouseOfComics – Twitch: twitch.tv/houseofcomics ///

Welcome to House of Comics #23! Slow week on the news side, but luckily, we’re a comic book podcast that reads the books and we ended up having a lot to talk about. On top of getting great issues from some of our favorite titles from the Big 2, we also got one of the best indie weeks of the year in our opinion. Between new books, new arcs, finales, and back issues, we talked about just about every genre/subgenre of comics you could think of without even realizing it. We pop around the industry for a few news topics, but the real topic of the day was yet another surge of high-quality indie titles that you should be adding to your pullist as you listen to this podcast. Welcome to House of Comics #22! We wanted to start off by saying Rest in Power to Chadwick Boseman, best known in the comic book community for his role as T’Challa – The Black Panther. It was not lost on us that Chadwick passed away on the same day Jack Kirby, creator of the Black Panther, was born. Being a comic book podcast, we felt that the most appropriate way to honor both of these men was to go through a list of Jack Kirby’s greatest creations and give our thoughts on these iconic characters. We also get around to some Marvel news after 84 years of DC Fandome and some comic book industry developments involving Dark Horse. Plus, as always, we dive into the books in our weekly comic book review. Don’t forget to follow us on IG: houseofcomicsgo - Twitter: @HouseOfComics – Twitch: twitch.tv/houseofcomics ///

Welcome to House of Comics #19! We had the idea of doing some interesting comic book writer/artist pairings some time ago, but with the recent solicitations and cancellations around the industry, our topic proved to be a bit timelier that we thought. From Brian K. Vaughn and Dustin Nguyen to Matt Kindt and Nick Derrington, we left almost no conceptual rock unturned in a quest for some great pairings we would like to see on some books that will never happen. In other words, we had a bunch of fun, so we hope you enjoy near subconscious spit balling.
