What Chiropractic Doesn't Cure: Stories of Innate

How Chiropractic Improves Nervous System Regulation with Dr. Brant Hulsebus

Listen Later

We hear a lot of information these days about the nervous system, especially in mental health circles. Hopefully, you've heard about how nervous system dysregulation affects your physical health as well. Before you address some different symptoms like gut health, or even headaches, it can be extremely beneficial to make sure that your nervous system is able to regulate between sympathetic, “fight or flight” response and parasympathetic, which is your “rest and digest” response.

In this episode of What Chiropractic Doesn’t Cure: Stories of Innate, we have a really cool story about a young child who was stuck in sympathetic overdrive. He and his parents were struggling so much, and he was so wild that both sets of grandparents had moved in to help his parents with him. Dr. Huslebus identified an atlas subluxation and adjusted - the result was immediate and dramatic! Now this child is on his way to engineering school.

Today’s guest is a third-generation chiropractor in Illinois, Dr. Brant Hulsebus. He is also President of the Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association (IPSCA) and board member of the ICA Council on Fitness & Sports Health Science, as well as a Fellow of the ICA, previously Legislative & Medicare Chairman and currently the Illinois delegate.

We also talk about the power of community when we’re in a state of healing. We need a support system and chiropractors can play an important role in a healthcare team!

Dr. Hulsebus is also passionate about supporting chiropractors in business. The IPSCA supports chiropractors in philosophy, technique and business. These are great events for both new and established chiropractors. Dr. Hulsebus shared some thoughts on how doctors can prepare their practice before selling. He encourages chiropractors to update their tables and buildings, as well as modernize their systems so that they have a beautiful practice and exit strategy to pass on their legacy.

Updating your social media is a necessity in today’s world, ESPECIALLY if you’re considering selling your practice. I recommend that at a minimum, you set up:

A fresh website with good SEO (talk to www.cherrypickedwebco.com)

A Google Business Profile with your website, hours etc.

A Facebook Page linked to a Meta Business Account and Instagram

An Instagram account

I recommend spending a few years adding blog posts to your website and posting regularly to social media to build up a healthy digital footprint for your successor.
