Today's episode is about how I got my job at YMH Studios that eventually lead to my position as Executive Producer there. I discuss my journey starting in high school making dumb movies with my friends, to college, where I also made dumb movies with my friends. I talk about my summer internships, the importance of finding a mentor and my first job out of college, running the video department for Weedmaps. But even though it was super fun and I have crazy stories about Snoop Dogg and getting B-Real from Cypress Hill too high for a 420 concert, I moved back to Los Angeles to pursue post production from ground zero and taking gigs along the traditional path of that career. I was able to start taking on better and cooler jobs that ended me up with a full time job at an ad agency where we made cool things consistently, but when I got laid off after a merger, I was left in a pickle and forced to think outside the box. I emailed some of my favorite podcasts and pitched them on adding a video component which resulted with my initial connection with Tom Segura and beginning working part time on Your Mom's House Podcast. I even read all my emails attempting to pitch myself for a job with them. I talk about the 2 year period working part time for YMH Podcast and freelancing at Machinima (where I met Enny) that ends with a full time job offer at the newly formed YMH Studios.
