Shane Adams is an entrepreneur, angel investor and startup mentor. When he couldn’t get hired as a substitute teacher, he didn’t give up on his passion to mentor students from low income communities across Austin. Instead, he asked what else he could do to help these students achieve a brighter future. And that’s when the SLA Foundation was born.

Shane and his wife are on a mission to help these children achieve greatness. They’re pioneering youth engagement in schools in so many different ways. Like bringing young professionals into high school classrooms so that students can hear real life stories of success.
By introducing everyday role models who have jobs many of these kids don’t even know exist, Shane is opening up a world of new possibilities.
