We’re so, so excited to bring you this week’s conversation with Brandon Kyle Goodman, an actor and producer who you probably know from the likes of ‘Modern Love’ (yes, he’s kissed Hot Priest) and ‘Feel the Beat’. But more recently, Brandon has been front and centre because of his viral videos on the topic of race, some of which have garnered millions of views. Brandon has been an incredibly instrumental person in our own anti-racism education, so we really wanted to speak to him now - 8 weeks after the murder of George Floyd and the start of the global movement that followed - about the concept of allyship fatigue, how to be an effective ally as opposed to just a ‘good’ one, what it’ll take to make real systemic change in Hollywood and beyond and how to keep this momentum going longterm.
You can follow Brandon on Instagram here and donate to the organisations he mentions here: The Bail Project, The Innocence Project, TransTech Social Enterprises, Black Trans Travel Fund, The Okra Project.
You can follow us on Instagram: @afterworkdrinkspodcast, @grceoneill, @isabelletruman, or join our closed Facebook group, After Work Drinks Podcast.
