  • episode 5 - the terf crisis

CW: This episode is about terfs, which are transphobic people who claim to be feminists. This means some anti-trans rhetoric is discussed.

    ...

You may have heard recently about JK R*wling and her outing herself as a terf. But what the heck is a terf??? Today, we are discussing the idiocy that is excluding trans women from the construction of womanhood. We here at HTBQ do not condone the actions of terfs and wish they would just stop it already because they don't make sense and look stupid tbh.

  • in queer terms: episode 2 - asexual
We are back in ur feed to drop something cool: weekly terminology mini podcasts! Each week we will be schooling you on a bit of queer terminology to beef up your queer vocab. Queerness and queer theory has an expansive vocabulary list, and we here at HTBQ think that the more words you are equipped with, the more you will understand. Keep in mind, it's us (Sam & Chris, ur hosts), so it's still distilled chaos.
This week we are talking about the queer people who don't experience sexual attraction, the asexual community! And, before you ask, no we aren't talking about plants. Asexuals are people, don't be ridiculous. PS: Chris is part of the asexual community (aro flux)!

  • episode 3 - pronoun madness

OKAY QUICK! Before you listen, go put your pronouns in your bio on Instagram and Twitter, and then also in your email signature! Go! Now! We will wait here! This is important; we would argue it is a matter of life or death!

    ...

Okay welcome back! Enjoy the show!

    It's chaotic gender neutral.

“We endorse International Pronouns Day, which seeks to make respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns commonplace. Referring to people by the pronouns they determine for themselves is basic to human dignity. Being referred to by the wrong pronouns particularly affects transgender and gender nonconforming people. Together, we can transform society to celebrate people’s multiple, intersecting identities. We encourage colleges, schools, workplaces, and local organizations to hold educational and empowering events on International Pronouns Day.”

  • in queer terms: episode 1 - assigned gender at birth

We are back in ur feed to drop something cool: weekly terminology mini podcasts! Each Thursday we will be schooling you on a bit of queer terminology to beef up your queer vocab. Queerness and queer theory has an expansive vocabulary list, and we here at HTBQ think that the more words you are equipped with, the more you will understand. Keep in mind, it's us (Sam & Chris, ur hosts), so it's still distilled chaos.

This week we are talking about the non-scientific and non-medical BS that is assigning a gender to babies based on their genitals only. Please tell me any baby's gender if they all had the same onesie on. Babies don't perform gender.

  • episode 2 - identity crisis

Strap in pals because in this episode, Sam and Chris attempt to identify their labels* and what they mean to them. Gotta love a set of millenial/gen Z queer hyumans going through an ~*~iDeNtItY cRiSiS~*~

  • episode 1 - gay chaos

Did that gender-neutral Starbucks barista put your head in a tailspin because they had a rainbow pin strategically placed upon the lapel of their forest green apron? Do you not even know what the G in 2SLGBTQPNIA+ stands for? Does this acronym literally make you bury your head in the sand or scream out loud? This podcast is for all you Karens who don’t wanna be Karens about queer issues anymore, because your best friend just told you he is non-binary and you need to learn about what a binary even is. It’s for all you Garys that have a very outspoken lesbian daughter who has recently become radicalized and now you can’t have any conversations because she has the terminology to shut you the heck up. Strap in, because you are about to get the Queer Fundamentals, starting right from the beginning.

This episode, Sam and Chris do some Buzzfeed quizzes to tell them which Animal Crossing and Sailor Moon characters they each are. This is the best way possible to get to know someone, because Buzzfeed knows all. Because Chris had a PB&J this morning, Buzzfeed knew they were the Regina George of their friend group back in 2012. This episode is more chaotic than the Buzzfeed quiz landing page. See you next week!
