There are many different ways to create a variation of a single Toprock step. Listed below are the 3 tips to help create your own steps

3 Tips To Create Variations:

#1: Place your feet in a different position to create a different picture with your step

#2: Add an extra step before, in between, or after the original step

#3: Utilize twisting/spinning and fake twists to create a different feel for the step

You can create different variations in your Toprocks, as well as your footwork, get downs, power moves and freezes so play around with different ways to make all of your movements less predictable

There are many different ways to change up the dynamics of your movement. Listed below are the 6 ways I show you in this video on how to change up the dynamics of one Torprock step

6 Dynamic changes:

#1: Utilize the groove/rock to create a “groovy” style or feel to your step

#2: Accent the beats in a song by being very sharp and precise to create a “picture” style

#3: Use your space and make your movements big by adding a leap and traveling around more to create a “big/energetic” style

#4: Hit beats in a song faster and create a sped up version of your Toprocks to create a “bouncy” style

#5: Change the texture/speed of your movements to create more unpredictable movements

#6: Chang up the tempo of a movement by adding an extra step to your movement

You can create different dynamics in your Toprocks, as well as your footwork, get downs, power moves and freezes so play around with different ways to make all of your movements less predictable

Tips for mastering the Handstand Freeze:

-To overcome your fear of being upside down, use a wall to practice on first

-You can go up against the wall with your back facing or your chest

-Get as close to the wall as possible to put your hips in the correct alignment with your shoulders and wrists

-The handstand balance point will be over shoulders and wrists

-The 3 main points to focus on for your handstand are your hips, shoulders and wrists

-Spread your fingers and grip the floor for balance and control

-Push away from the ground when upside down to cause your shoulders to go up towards your ears

-Before kicking off up into the handstand make sure your shoulders and wrists are in a straight line

-After you place your wrists and shoulders in straight line focus on bringing your hips over that line

-When you get to the peak of the handstand flex everything in your body

-Practice different leg positions (tucked, open, closed, and scissors)

-Create a triangle on the ground with your head as the tip and your 2 hands as the base corners

-Align your hips over your head before kicking off

-Spread your fingers apart and grip the floor for better control and balance

-Flex everything when you are at the peak of your freeze

-Extend/expand your body away from the ground vs. crunching/collapsing into yourself

-Practice different leg positions (tucked, open, closed and scissors)

Tips for mastering the Reverse Baby Freeze:

-There are 3 points of contact: head, stabbing hand, and opposite hand

-[For Left Stab Hand] Start with left leg up and right knee down, place opposite arm on outside of left leg and stab hand on left hip/side

-Try your best to connect your tricep of the opposite hand to your quad vs. connecting elbow to knee

-Make sure there is contact between your stabbing arm and your hip/side

-Your arms will be like the middle of a teeter totter

-Use your upper body to tilt towards your head vs. jumping off the ground with your feet

Tips for mastering the Baby Freeze:

-There are 3 points of contact: head, stabbing hand, and opposite hand

-Tilt your head when it is on the ground vs. place your cheek flat on the ground

-Make sure your weight is evenly distributed between both hands and your head

-Place your opposite hand closer to your legs to make it easier to place your leg on top of it

-Create a 90-degree angle with both your legs

Practice lifting off your head and back to gain strength and control

The Stab/Pilot freeze is a basic ground freeze that you will need to learn in order to perform other ground freezes such as the baby freeze

Tips for mastering the Stab/Pilot Freeze:

-Turn your stabbing hand to the side or backward to allow your elbow to come into your stomach

-Choose a spot that is most comfortable for you between your belly button and hip bone to place your elbow

-Lower your chest in order to allow your legs to come up vs. kicking your legs up off the floor

-Your chest will determine your weight distribution between your upper and lower half of your body

-Lean slightly to the side of your stabbing arm in your to center your body over your stabbing hand

-If you are falling, counterbalance by leaning your weight into the opposite direction you are falling

-Most of the weight should be on your stabbing hand, your other hand is there to help you balance

-Practice different leg positions in order to feel different weight and balance points
