Charming and full of surprises

I don't know what I was thinking...this book has been sitting on my kindle for over a year now! I am so glad that I went back and dug it out because I really enjoyed it. I'll admit, I went a bit out of order. I read other books from Joanne Schwehm that have the main characters from Unexpected Chance in them. It was nice seeing the parallels in the books but they also work as standalone. That being said, I kinda knew how things would pan out in the end. What I didn't know was the intense and painful journey Aubrey and Alex took.

I went back and forth on my feelings about Aubrey. I liked that she was following her heart and chasing her dream of being a writer. But not just any writer, a romance writer. Only problem is she knows nothing about romance. She has never been swept off of her feet or in love. Her best friend Julie comes up with a plan to help set her need of finding a muse into action and the results are downright comical. But when she lays her eyes on the tall, dark and gorgeous man that is Alex Logan she is literally stunned stupid. There is something about him that she can't deny, even after the first few hours they spend together. Alex- sigh- that man is what dreams are made of. He is as guarded as he is giving and as serious as he is sweet. Unknowingly he gives Aubrey everything she never knew she was missing. From flowers to kisses to rides home. He falls fast and hard for this shy and caring woman who allows him to be himself. For the first time in what feels like forever, both of their walls are coming down. There is an ease and lightness to their relationship that proved just how well suited they were for one another. They share their fears and dreams with each other. Sweet. Fun. HOT!!!

I was a little nervous about Grant in the beginning. I was afraid he was going to be the typical former nerdy, picked-on hometown boy who runs out of town before the ink's dry on his diploma; makes good; muscles up; and becomes the rich, famous, and hot sports star who frequently bangs a different gorgeous woman every night, buying into the hype of his new fame. While he was all that, making this picky bish want to dislike him on principle, he was also more. The unassuming and unimpressed townsfolk, especially Faith, soon opened his eyes and made him realize he was tired of the fame game. For the first time since he became famous, he had to work at getting a woman's attention, and it was a turning point.

Faith put her life on hold for years to care for her ailing father. She gave up a lot, and I couldnât help but admire her kindness, loyalty, and determination. I adored her spunk, especially when she put Grant in his place and unknowingly made him work harder for her affections.

Once Faith finally decided to take a little happiness for herself and gave in to the overwhelming attraction, their passion erupted in scenes hot enough to rock worlds. Grant was a master at dirty talk and relaxing her inhibitions. Faith was so open and uninhibited that it amped up the heat level even more.

Quick Trick was a fast, fun, hella hot kick off to this new series. There was only a brief glimpse of Grantâs teammates whoâll be featured in the rest of the series. I canât wait for book two to meet the next Rough Rider.

A Good Listen

This short story gives you a glimpse into the life of a Star. Returning to her childhood home for a nice relaxing Christmas, doesn't actually happen for Tracy. The characters are well written and the tale moves along nicely. This novella is just a quick listen, but a very enjoyable one.

Beautiful short story - could easily be a Movie!

I listened to this short story in audio format and loved the way it was done by two narrators, Brenna Larsen and Andrew Russell, they really made the characters a live. The story was in a small town which I know very well, with an event we all go through, our tenth school reunion, with all the who did the best in last ten years. Tho the main theme was the romance of the two main characters and their lives both in school and after. Beautifully written, could easily become a movie. Great job David!

I listened to this story in audio form. Narrators Brenna Larsen and Andrew Russell bring these characters to life in this Short story with a second chance at love. Reunited high school sweethearts Tracy and Stephen have lived their own lives and have become successful in their own right. Shes at the top of her career and married and hes leveled out and looking for his muse. My favorite character is Stephen, I would love to see these characters get a full story, either what happen in theyre time apart or of what happens after this story.

Soul Mates

This was such a sweet story. Tracy and Steven dated in high school. When it came time for college, Tracy moved to LA and became famous singing. Steven wanted to be a writer and stayed behind because if he moved, he would have to work and not have time to write. Of course, as always, life happened. Years later Tracy comes home for the holidays with her husband, who I wont say much about except that hes horrible. Find out what happens as the holiday passes. This story really makes you stop and think about life choices and what ifs. Also, if you have a good thing you should cherish it and be thankful, no matter if youre rich or poor. And money isnt everything. It doesnt buy love.

The narrators were great. I liked how there was both a male and female.

A Lush Reunion is everything I love about second chance love stories! When Colin and Marsha reunite, 10 years after a heart-breaking end to their romance, neither can deny the feelings they still have for one another. Would they overcome past hurts, and finally learn to trust in their love? I sped through the pages, anxious to see them achieve their happily ever after!

So many things made this book one of my favorite reads of 2015. Selena Laurence's writing is superb! I love how the setting, characters, and dialogue flowed so perfectly. Colin and Marsha were such fantastic characters. I loved the growth that they both showed as the story moved along! Their chemistry sizzled, but more importantly, they had a deep emotional connection that could not be denied. The romance, oh the romance...there's just something so sweet about reunited high school sweethearts. Colin's determination to show Marsha that he would support her and Sean was such a wonderful thing to read. His resolve to be a compassionate presence in Marsha's life was absolutely swoon-worthy! I loved the interactions between them that involved Sean, too. He is such an adorable kid! Lastly, the sense of family and community really came through in this story. I so enjoyed the way the cast of characters came together to support Colin, Marsha and Sean. Of course, it was great to catch up again with the rest of the Lush family. This group stole my heart in book one and has retained a firm grip on it since.

Say it's not over!!!

I love the Lush guys and every one of their stories. The band has grown and matured and now are starting families with their soul mates. Joss and Mel, Walsh and Tammy, Mike and Jenny and now Colin and Marsha. All the books are brilliant and the thought of no more Lush is just too much!! Pax has a book too and I hope the series continues with the next generation of rockers.

My favorite book of the whole series. I love second chances at long lost love. Great storyline and characters. Your pulled in from the first page and you don't want to come out. Definitely recommending

Great story and characters

I just finished this book and had to post a review right away. I am loving this book series. Brooke is a strong, spirited character who thinks she's strong and brave but eventually learns how to face her fear of love. Billy moves back to town after a baseball career ending injury and rediscovers the only woman he ever really loved. His caring heart and generous spirit made me root for him from the beginning. Great story!

Okay

I didn't care for this one as much as the first. Brooke was irritating. It felt like the author didn't quite understand her and didn't explain her fully. There was too much navel-gazing for me, too. Still, the writing is good enough that I am going to read the third in the series.

Loved him! Her, not so much...

I didn't read the first book in this series, but this was a freebie, so I decided to give it a chance.

Billy was hands down the best part of the book. He was generous, sweet and nice to everyone. An injury ended his professional baseball career, so he helps his grandfather realize his dream of owning a vineyard. He hires Brooke, the girl he kissed once in high school, to manage the place. I really didn't see what he saw in Brooke.

At first, I liked Brooke, but she quickly got on my last nerve. She was constantly hot and cold about Billy, and seemed to be judging him all the time. She had him pegged as a jerk and a womanizer with zero proof that he was either. She also held a huge grudge about high school, which seemed really childish.

This book was a bit on the long side, it dragged at times, especially when in Brooke's head. If it were 20-25% shorter it would help.

the heroine is a witch

I didn't care for this one. The heroine was such a -itch. I really had a hard time understanding why the hero even liked her. I get it that she was pretty but is that really enough to have you being treated like dirt? I just don't get that. I can understand that she was disappointed she didn't get to buy the vineyard however, since he paid millions for it what are the odds that she could get it with a bank loan? Not likely. She just had a chip on her shoulder bigger than needed to be!! I just didn't like anything about her and had a hard time understanding why he just kept trying to get on her good side when she was so pissed at the world.

I did quit reading. I just was not enjoying the story at all. I do think it had a lot of potential.

Forever with You

This story was about second chance at love. The h was/is married and hadn't told her family the divorce papers weren't served to her Marine. Now several years later he walks into her restaurant. He informs her he is the new sheriff in town. What is a girl to do? Does she want him back? Or does she still want the divorce?

Hot and cold

I had a really hard time liking Sophia. She was very likable but horribly immature. Living in lala land with her brain in the clouds. So many times I found myself yelling at my Kindle because of something she had said, thought or did. Exhausting. Riley was much better but stuck in the white knight syndrome. His sister Lucy and Sophia mainly. Very good read. Is there a story for Angie and Lizzie?

Great addition to series!

Another amazing installment of the Starlight Hill series! I loved, loved, loved Sophia and Riley's story! The first half of this one feels like sitting down with an old friend. It was so easy to slip right back into the world of Starlight Hill, seeing old favorite characters and getting to know more about Sophia. I was pulled right in and by the middle of the book, I couldn't stop turning pages. This author has a unique and distinctive voice and I love the way she laces humor through the whole story. And Riley. Oh, my! He might be my favorite hero yet! Riley is a sexy alpha male determined to put himself in harm's way to keep everyone else safe. Love him! Highly recommend this book and this series! Hoping we get to see more of the characters from Starlight Hill!

Forever with You by Heatherly Bell....Oh my goodness Heatherly Bell just keeps getting better. I absolutely loved this book, second chance romance are a favorite for me. Her characters are always well written and relatable. I enjoyed watch the story unfold between Sophia and Riley in this book. I received a complimentary book for an honest review.

Meant To Be Together

Big family, wonderful friends, and two people who are meant to be together try to find their way back. It's all about trust, forgiveness and following your heart. An excellent combination of hot and sweet. Riley and Sophia are believable, good-hearted and honest. Worth the read and an excellent addition to this series.

A Perfect Couple?

I loved Landon when I met him in book one and was thrilled to see him have a story of his own. He seemed so sweet and one that I would love to meet in person. Despite his ups and downs it seemed his family was always there to help pull him back. It was great to see Belle and Jace again and see how they are doing.

Megan seemed very sweet although a bit frustrating at times. At the end though I loved her and she and Landon have a very interesting relationship throughout the book. I can't wait to read more.

I loved love how Landon and Megan both rely on their faith to find Gods place for them. Each having been through bad relationships find that time and searching for answers are worth finding true everlasting love. I can't wait for more stories!

LOVED!

"Through the Mist" was very well written, and after the second book of this series- very refreshing! I absolutely loved everything about this novel. I loved the characters, the story-line, and the way everything was presented. I was very pleased with how the novel turned away from the way "After the Fall" was written and back to the typical writing style of Ms. Isaacson.

The story of Belle's brother Landon leads us back to Gold Valley, and to the pastor's daughter who just moved back into town to spruce up the church. Neither Megan nor Landon was looking for a relationship, and definitely not looking for love, but that doesn't stop Belle and Jace from pushing them in that direction. With both of these two looking for something different, something to complete them, maybe they are what each other is looking for!

I would just like to say that there are over 6 books in this series (so far), and I am not normally a fan of series that run this long (unless they really hold your attention); however, Mrs. Isaacson grabs your attention with the multiple characters throughout the many novels and manages to keep them all tied together without having to repeat herself a multitude of times throughout each story. Wonderful job, if you enjoy one, you will enjoy all of them.

I love the storyline that connects to her other series! Landon and Megan's story was up and down and it kept me wondering what would happen! It realistically portrays what Christian couples might go through with physical attraction before marriage and with working through personal issues.

What a great story! Jayden and Merf were two people who had a strong attraction to one another! They tried to hide it from each other because of being together just one time and realizing there was such a strong bond to each other but Jayde didn't even think she liked Merf much because he was such a playboy! Rhonda Lee Carver writes good sexy stories! Read this story you will love it and find out what happens between a Merf and Jayde!

Left me wanting more

Great story about a head strong woman who flips house and the super hot doctor she drives crazy. Rhonda Lee carver has a way of making you want to have these characters as friends. A short novel to keep you entertained and wrapped up with a bow.

Its always refreshing to read a story where they lady isnât the damsel in distress, and Rhonda Lee Carver did a fantastic job with the character of Jayden! Jayden is a strong-willed woman who knows what she wants and is big in what most would consider a manâs career. Jayden goes to the cabin that was left to her and Merf after Devon (Merfs brother) and Allison pass away in an accident. Sheâs going in hopes to avoid Merf, and this shouldnât be a problem since they keep it known when each one will be there. Jayden has a past with Merf and that is where she wants to leave it. Merf decides to stay at the cabin as well, and decides it is time to show Jayden that what she thinks isnât always as it seems. This story is a wonderful tale of a 2nd chance and 2 people who are strong and determined to have things happen the way they want. Of course, with every story you have to have some kind of âvillainâ and I LOVE the one Rhonda has put in this book to stir the pot!! This story can be so relatable to real life, and the plot keeps it moving along that you wonât want to put it down!!!

Excellent yet again!

I've listened all day to this book and struggled to stop so I can sleep. Leaves me wanting more for the sequels if there are any... It's been enjoyable from start to finish and you don't wonder who is who like in some stories.. Brilliant
