    Different narrator.
Different narrator for this book, he does a good job.l of portraying all the characters. Something is lost in the character of Ronnie Torrgue. Overall it is a good book. I only wish the author would release the next book sooner rather than later. THANKS

    Publisher's Summary:
They looked as if they weren't sure what to do with me until they looked down at their fallen comrade I was standing over. Then, it was on.
I'd never fought more than one person at a time before, well, at least not outside of black belt training. But, that was just sparring. Still, I prepared myself just as I would in class. They attacked simultaneously from different sides. I side stepped while delivering a strike to one guy's gut. The other did manage to catch me in the chest and, though my momentum didn't allow him to get a good grip, it sent me sprawling.

    Into thin air
    Any additional comments?
I had been looking forward to the sequel of Alexander Ranch, In fact. The author has outdone herself with Into Thin Air.
Both novels very easy to read and when I had to leave them, found it extremely easy to pick up the story again. Very entertaining.
    Fantastic Continuation of Series
Lela Charles is spending time with the Alexander clan out at the ranch, trying to get a handle on her special abilities and her growing attraction to Jordan Alexander. When the Alexanders ask Lela for help she agrees, even though shes still wary of this strange but loving family. But when Jordan asks her to give their budding romance a try, Lela shoots him down, despite the way he, and no one else makes her feel.
This, the second book in the Alexander Ranch series, has much more of a romantic element to it, but dont worry, theres still plenty of action and suspense as well, I have to admit, I was a little frustrated by the way Lela kept thwarting Jordan and then something would happen in the story that would make me think Jordan has every reason to be cautious, and perhaps shes much wiser than me.
The paranormal storyline is a major focus in this book and I look forward to seeing where book three goes from here!
Jaime Lamchick continues to narrate the series and she does an even better job in this second book, which clocks in at just under six hours. Jaime has fully voiced all the characters in this audiobook and her subtle nuances in tone make it easy to follow which characters speak. The audio production quality is flawless.
This audiobook was gifted to me exchange for an unbiased review!
A Hot Mystery Filled Romance with Some PNR
    Any additional comments?
I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. This continuation book in the Alexander Ranch series is even hotter and more intriguing than the first in the series. The characters and situations bring you even deeper into their paranormal (PNR) world and leaves you wanting more. If you like mysteries and paranormal characters that are different than what you may be used to, you will love these not so typical PNR characters and their world that revolves around a ranch in California and their non-human elements security firm. The author did an excellent job of bringing the characters and their world to like. I look forward the listening to the next book in the series.
    Into Thin Air
Would you listen to Into Thin Air again? Why?
I would listen to the book again because the narration was spot on. There were various characters and each one was portrayed different by the narrator.

    Underwhelming
Having heard and read a lot of the positive reviews, I thought I would give this a go. I am a big fan of the psychological thriller/story with any twist that makes me want to go back and relisten to parts I may have missed. This was slow to get into. At no point did I feel drawn in to care about the characters. It was just a story that was told with no real twist. It's just an interesting perspective told from the widow. Everything else seems playing to the typicalities of the main characters. Nothing really fresh there. So disappointing. Will be returning.
    Confession is a dangerous thing.
Great story and characters, engaging and with a realistic feel that few books achieve, the reporters side of the story feels new and three dimensional, like the inner voices of some of the characters. It feels personal, a realistic exposure of crime we read about on papers with very little background or understanding of the devastation one act can incur on so many.
The story is sad and disturbing but presented with sensitivity and understanding that it is not voyeuristic of the crime or dismissive of the victim, it builds around her and the waves her loss brings to all involved. A true psychological thriller that deepens the empathy not the violence.
It represents the police and press in realistic way with no histrionics or romanticism and humanises a crime instead instead of the usual exploitive gore that is so prevalent.
This is one of the few books I could not put down and finished it in one sitting. A true finding.
The author second books does include some of the characters in this one, yes there is more coming soon.
Great, no frills British psychological drama
It's rare to find psychological thrillers that aren't over the top. Instead of bodies piling up, this entire novel premises around one particular child abduction and how the people around were affected. The widow of the alleged criminal is a completely flawed person, battling her own demons whilst trying to live with him and the press / police constantly hounding her. She is by far imperfect. If I say anymore it may reveal too much. Looking forward to see this on the small screen.
    Somehow underwhelming
When a book has such hype and so many rave reviews, you question your own judgment when you can't see what all the fuss was about. There was no suspense, no atmosphere, not much of anything really. And though the reader read clearly and well, she raced through it breathlessly in a way I found tiring to listen to.
    Expected more
Didn't find it as exciting or enjoyable as others. Tad predictable. Had great reviews so was expecting more than just a straight up story.

    Enjoyed the book
    Any additional comments?
I thought this was a really fresh, interesting perspective. A different kind of view of the end of the world that you don't see in many PA books. It had a strong female character which I liked. I'd recommend it and I will definitely read any books that come out in the series.
    Loved the story!
I really liked the main character but I wasn't thrilled with the ending. Perhaps there will be additional books?
    Very well done
This story was so well thought out. It has a great flow and I love how Druga always wraps up a story nicely in one book, though I would not have minded a sequel for this one at all. The characters were well developed and the story was engaging. The narration was also very well done. I really enjoyed this. Keep them coming.

Thoroughly enjoyable to listen to in the car
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Not really. I suppose it would be better to have three or four people reading, because there are quite a few characters.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Lovely characters. Especially the women characters. Accents and different dialects were really good. I could hear every word spoken which was good. The sound quality was excellent.
What about Ian Patricks performance did you like?
Fantastic, really. His voice is good and his speech is clear and it was nicely paced with lots of variety in rhythm and pace and mood.
Was Gun Dealing worth the listening time?
Yes. For sure. No question. Highly recommended for a long trip in the car.
    Any additional comments?
Lots of fun in among the thrilling fights and the action scenes. Very witty. Characters are so interesting. No macho guys. Very intelligent and strong women. Teasing, very funny comments between the cops. Very funny discussion about language and another one about sexism. All nicely balanced. Intelligent mature relationships. Where there are some patriarchal attitudes they are clearly all deliberate and giving insights about that kind of character. Then those same characters get taught a lesson. No thumping of tables to make points. Just lovely underpinning giving us insights into attitudes and relationships, while we get on with the action. I'll definitely get another of his books.
    Wondertful story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Oh yes. It's very good. I have already recommended it to all my American friends, and those who live in Africa, too.
What other book might you compare Gun Dealing to and why?
Well, I have to confess that I read the fourth book, Death Dealing, in the same series before I read this one, which is the second book in the series. That's because I read a blurb that said you can read them in any order, and in addition I was especially interested in the one scene described in the fourth book that was advertised. So, it's like that fourth book. And they're both like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Very exciting.
Have you listened to any of Ian Patricks other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but maybe I will now.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Exciting cop thriller with evil villains and tough heroes.
    Any additional comments?
There's lots of funny bits, too, and I love the local accents and dialects and slang words.

Here are four psychological thrillers where love and shame collide, creating a warped kind of sexual chemistry. Abduction, paranoia, addiction, and obsession thicken the mix.
    The Shuttered Room

But her life takes a nasty turn when she's taken hostage and incarcerated in an upstairs room by three thugs demanding a huge ransom from her rich father. In a bid to escape, she cuts a hole in the bedroom floor with a cutlery knife. From there, Jess observes the three of them going about their everyday business. Soon, she'll learn the meaning of treachery.
    And fear.

    Not Enjoying It
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A better experience? I hate to say that a different narrator might make it work. I can't give an opinion about the story because it was so hard to listen to her voice. I had to rewind repeatedly to get what she was saying, which is important because the story kept jumping around a lot. I finally hit Fast Forward several times to see if it got better but it didn't. I forwarded to the next book but it was the same thing.
Has Eclipse Quartet: 4 Psychological Thrillers turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I love this genre and have read many books that were excellent and hard to put down. But this one just didn't do it. Many times I felt like I should take notes to keep track.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I've listened to many books that have narrators with accents and almost all of them lend to the feel of the story. But for some reason I couldn't connect with her speaking voice and character roles. Many times it was hard to understand even when rewinding a couple of times. When it reaches that point you lose the story.
    You didnt love this book...

    Publisher's Summary:
A week before Christmas, a young photographer discovers a plastic-wrapped corpse amid the sand dunes north of Cape Town. The only thing found on the corpse is a dead iPhone, but it doesn't take long for the police to identify the body as that of Ernst Richter - the tech whiz behind MyAlibi, an Internet service that provides unfaithful partners with sophisticated cover stories to hide affairs. Meanwhile, Benny Griessel is called to the scene of a multiple homicide involving a former colleague, and four years of sobriety are undone on the spot. He emerges from his drunken haze determined to quit the force, but the indomitable Major Mbali Kaleni, now his boss, wants Griessel on the Richter case.
The high-profile murder has already been the subject of fierce media speculation, with questions swirling about the potential for motive: Could the perpetrator be one of the countless jilted spouses? An aggrieved client? Before the week is out, an unexpected connection to a storied family winery comes to light, and Griessel's reputation is again on the line. Mounting toward a startling conclusion, Icarus is another exceptional novel from the "King of South African Crime".

A lot of adventures and fun!
Tanner-assassin for hire and Sara Blake, his enemy hating Tanner so much that it borders on madness.
Tanner killed the man Sara loved and she is bent on revenge.
That is the main line of R.Kane Tanner books but Tanner novels are certainly different from other similar books because Tanner goes through life killing Mafia guys, loving women and, generally, having lots of fun.
As much fun as Mr Kane obviously had writing those books!
Each Tanner novel is fast-paced,easy to read, make you laugh often and leaves the reader wanting for more adventures of that unbeatable assassin.
Just hope that Remington Kane will keep Tanner very much alive in more books to come.
    Perfect summer read!
    A good read
I thoroughly enjoyed this book - once I got past the first few chapters. The first characters to be introduced all had similar sounding names and it took some paging back and forth until I could figure out who was who. Once it became clear, I couldn't stop reading. The book is action-packed, and keeps your interest until the end. Overall, I recommend reading it, and I will be checking out the other books in the series.
    tanner 6
I always look for books with series, that way, if I like the first one I ten order the series. Each tanner book got better and was sad that I had to wait for the latest one! I have to admit, however, I am tired of Sara and would not grieve her demise.
    Who's the bad guy?
I prefer to have the characters and more specifically white hat or black hat. It was hard to distinguise between god guys and bad guys. I like good guys to win.
    Better than the title
The book was better than the title. From bank robbing to a full intrique of several characters. I liked the interplay between good and bad, young and mature, as well as the escapes and tension between the characters. Thanks for making it available.
