This was a disappointment, not up to the interest with which this author usually writes. Nothing of interest and very predictable. I did like the ending though.

LLMiller one of the best on my Kindle...

LLMiller is one of my very favorite authors..sadly she is pricing out of my retirement budget along with Susan Wiggs, and Susan Mallory..these ladies all impress me with their story telling, just can not afford any longer..

the cost of living in today's world is so sad for us from the 50's and beyond..hopefully in 2014 and 2016 change, REAL HONEST CHANGE will come to the America I was raised in.

will watch for specials..love my Kindle which was a gift from my very favorite son in law...he is a gem.

Enjoyed yet another excellent book by Linda Lael Miller. Any book I've read by her has always delivered believable characters and situations. I have read a large portion of her books and will continue to do so until I've completed the list. Thanks for keeping the "joy" in reading.

Good ,well written, introductions that left us intimately knowing the characters, and a conclusion that gave enough to satisfy us and leave space for dreaming.

Uninteresting Book

I was disappointed in this book. I thought it was about her mother being missions and they went to look for her in San Francisco. Wasn't an interesting read.

Very Adorable!

Sweet at times and at others a bit cheesy but so much fun. Stories where one of the characters has amnesia are my favorite and this one did not disappoint. It never dragged and it was fun seeing what kind of pranks they would pull on each other next.

I will say I was kind of surprised at the amount of times they stripped their clothes off. They were never naked (except one funny moment) but it just seemed like a lot for a novel recommended for 12 to 17 year old children.

Rating: PG-13 (honestly I recommend it for older teens considering the amount of almost nudity scenes in the novel.)

Medium to High re-readability.

Cowboys, break-ups, amnesia, oh my!!!

I love this book because, unlike other rom-coms of its kind, it was unpredictable. The ending wasn't determined by the reader in the first five pages. Sure, maybe the guy got the girl and the conflict was resolved, but is was done in a way that didn't make you want to roll your eyes at its cheesiness. All the pranks pulled by the characters and the general feel good mood of the book made the story heartwarming without being sappy, a quality that's few and far between in the young adult romance genre. Overall, this book definitely earned its five stars and is perfect for any girl longing for a knight in shining armor or, in this case, a hot cowboy in some faded Levi's:)

Great beach read!

Fool Me Twice was a super fun, easy beach read. I absolutely loved the ranch setting. Something about it reminded me of setting for Dirty Dancing. I was so wrapped up in the romance, that time flew as I turned the pages. I found myself both loving and hating Landon at the same time. As a prankster myself, I was impressed with Mack's creativity. I recommend this book for girls 14 and up.

Cute and clean

It's a quick easy read. Good for teen girls since it's clean. Wish for a little depth but overall it was good.

Supercute and entertaining read

3,5 stars. An easy read. Very YA but sometimes that is exactly what you want. Very few kisses but there is still a good romance. I liked it.

Enjoyable story with excellent narration

Gail Shalan's voice is soothing, yet animated. She brings great definition to each character (male and female) The multiple characters go through many emotions and personality development, which are subtly yet powerfully evoked by the narrator. The tone used for the main character made me sense Mac's underlying strength - which emerges as the book progresses. This was a very enjoyable recording.

Every Breath is a beautifully written emotional story of love and loss.

Makenna is broken, a shell of the woman she once was. The loss of her fiancé, the love of her life, has destroyed her, and pieces of her heart are lost. Desperately trying to appear normal Makenna begins a relationship with Drew. Pretending to be happy, she lives day by day, going through the motions and never truly opening up, much to the dismay of the patent Drew.

A letter, one piece of paper, is the beginning of hope for Makenna. Sawyer, a soldier overseas begins corresponding with the broken elementary school teacher, and a deep friendship forms between the two. Sawyer helps Makenna to open up and helps to bring her back to life, and saves himself in the process.

Every Breath is a story with one broken woman and two men who might be hiding secrets. Makennas journey is full of emotion and the story unfolds in the most unexpected ways.

I felt connected to Makenna. Her character is so gullible and sweet, she wants to make everyone around her happy and will do so at the expense of herself. So watching Makenna grieve her fiancé is nothing short of heartbreaking. Her love for him was so deep and so real, I could feel her pain. It was difficult to see someone with such a pure heart suffer so much.

Would you listen to Secret Gifts again? Why?

In a couple of years I would listen again, but not something I normally do. I tend to forget how the story goes, so it could be new again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gage because he seemed to grow and become responsible.

She does a great job of portraying their emotions.

Secret Gifts - Sweet Romance with Touch of Mystery

The magic of Castle Mountain Lodge continues to facilitate and encourage romance and perhaps falling in love....This was another great read in a breathtaking setting.

Gage and Megan trapped in an unexpected situation, manage to connect on a personal level that leads to a lively conclusion.

There were great characters that you could relate to, realistic romantic challenges that are believable and interesting supporting characters added to the intriguing dilemmas that ensues.

I continue to enjoy the Castle Mountain Lodge series very much. Elena Aitken is a very good author and the story line grabs your interest, and keeps you reading and listening to the very end.

Jennifer Drake Ford also accomplishes her task as narrator with gratifying results and imbues the various characters with her special touch as a gifted narrator.

I would recommend this audiobook to anyone desiring a rewarding listening experience. Short and sweetly entertaining.

Would you be willing to try another book from Lisa De Jong? Why or why not?

Yes, I would try another book by Lisa De Jong. The writing was not bad at all. The flow of the story was very good. I really loved Dane and sometimes wondered why he loved Alex so much. I just feel like Alexandra grew up in the VERY rich lifestyle and not sure she will be able to ever live without it. She says she will, but not sure I believe it. When Alex and Dane went out, it sounded like Dane paid for everything even though he was the one putting himself through school and working. Alex never worked a day in her life. She never even thought of getting a job during winter or spring break. I hate to say this but at times while I was reading this I was thinking Alex was whining about "rich girl problems". There are many people out there who have no family support financially or emotionally.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator did a decent job. I think some of the male voices needed some work. At times, when she did Dane's voice she sounded like Millhouse from The Simpsons. She did the female voices very well.

Awesome Book

I've read several books from Lisa de Jong and loved them all. This was my first audio from her and overall I enjoyed it. I liked the narrator except, when she quoted other female characters. It was almost as if she over exaggerated the voices.

A good story (though not incredible)

Well written, decent character development, and a predictable but still enjoyable plot.

However, for me, the narrators voice was extremely irritating and nasal.

This is the first book in the Sexy Witches series. Ella the witch is searching for a cure for her pet zombie and in the midst of it all a hot angel and a feisty pixie appears. The book is funny with a bit of sadness and lots of hot, half naked, kilt wearing angel to tempt everyone. I laughed out loud several times, fanned myself and had a tear in my eye in the ending. I absolutely loved it.

I love the narrator. She keeps my attention without problems.

Intriguing plot, great characters

This was a really interesting listen. I really like the characters but could have used more world building. There are many things that take a long time to be revealed. At first I was confused about what was happening.

Ella is rather sweet and haphazard. I would have loved more build and flirtation in her relationship with Sam. Perhaps show more of her trying to cure Freddie. I liked what I saw of her, just needed more.

I was a touch thrown by the Fates angle of the plot. It will be interesting to see how that develops through the series. Love the supporting cast, Freddie,Tam and Randall were great! I really hope we get to see their HEA.

There is plenty of sizzle but it is light on the smexy details. Still, quite nice for a short read.

I liked the mixed narrative, it helps you really understand both Ella and Sam. There is a bit of emotional drama, but that is par for the course with a good romance.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Hollie Jackson, who does a great job with all the voices. I enjoyed her pace and tone throughout the read. Definitely one I would like to hear again.

While this book is slightly funny it tends to jump from characters to character without the benefit of letting us know it is from a different point of view. There was also a lot of out of the blue additions to the story without much explanation. This might be due to the transition to audiobook. I like to get short stories sometimes to break up the long audiobooks. While this book did the job it was only a filler book and I see there is more to this series, I won't be getting them. Narrator is slightly high pitched.

Well deserved mate

Where does Her Wolf, Her Protector rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

This audible was short and sweet. Most short stories I read rush through and forget to add the actually story. Not with this book, it offered a nice story in the amount of time it was given.

I loved both Marcus and Amber equally! They were great leading characters!

The pause between some of the lines was so long that sometimes (so often that it became an annoyance) I had to check whether the audiobook was still playing!

Fascinating Story From Arabic World

I don't have much expectation from the audiobook, since this is my first with the author. But I'm glad and find it so lovely.

AN ENJOYABLE, SWEET LISTEN BUT OVER TOO SOON

This is the 3rd book in the Desert Nights trilogy - The Sheikh's Redemption, The Sheikh's Claim and then this one.

Sexy, tortured, ex Special Ops,Billionaire Rashid has a goal - to become the next King of his country but he needs a particular woman to achieve it and makes his devious plans to claim her. Laylah has been in love with Rashid since they were childhood friends but he never took any notice of her until her life was under threat one night and he mysteriously came to her rescue. She knew what she wanted Rashid and set about getting him (not very graphic sex scene) but things were moving very fast and there were a lot of shocking secrets yet to be unearthed.

Rashid thought she was going to be like the other women in her family spoilt and scheming but when he rescues her he realised she's nothing like them and falls really hard for her. Laylah can't believe her luck - the man of her dreams that she has been fantasizing about for all of her life wants to marry her. but it only takes one trip to her Mother's house to see all her hopes and dreams come crashing down. Even when Rashid humbles himself their story looks as if it'll never have a HEA ending.

Worth a credit? A passionate, intense and heartbreaking love story that's creditworthy IMHO but at only 6 hours long you may want to wait until it's on sale. Also, this could be a stand-alone listen which is a good job as the other 2 books aren't yet available on Audible.

In Review: Sweetest Mistake (Sweet, Texas #2) by Candis Terry

I decided to take a short break from my regularly scheduled reading to take a little trip back down to Sweet, Texas this week and I'm so glad I did. Jackson's story had me swooning all over the place. I totally understand why my friend enjoys this series as much as she does. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites of this genre.

Second chance stories are easily one of my favorite tropes in romance. I've always loved the idea of past loves reuniting. (I'm not going to even spend a second thinking about WHY I enjoy them so much. Ha! That's a bad mental road to travel. But I digress...) This time the romance was between Jackson and Abby. They were each other's first everything. Abby left Jackson years ago when he joined the military and headed to Afghanistan. It was a bad choice, but it was the best one she could make at the time. Life has changed drastically for each of them in the last seven years, but now they're both back in Sweet, Texas and it's time to come to terms with what happened in the past. Because, the spark is undeniably still there between them.

I really liked both these characters. Jackson â former soldier, current firefighter, father â was sweet and brave. You just couldn't NOT like him. He's close with his family, maintains a good relationship with his ex wife and is just flipping adorable when with his daughter, Izzy. Abby was a little tougher to get a handle on, but I liked her. She's not had the easiest time since leaving Sweet â entering a loveless marriage, being a trophy wife and then ultimately being unceremoniously dumped. I really did feel bad for her. I also enjoyed her attitude and spunk. And when with Jackson, chemistry sizzled all over the place. I enjoyed the push-pull of them fighting not to fall back into those old feelings, while at the same time wanting little more than to be together.

This was a great addition to the Sweet series. I loved visiting again with the characters from the first book. Charli and Reno still make me smile. Mom Jana's meddling self is one of my favorite things about this series, too. It's so perfectly southern and realistic, without being totally over the top. This series is a perfect one to turn to when I'm in the mood for something light, with great romance and some feels, that will leave me smiling at the end.
