Delightfully sweet!

Nice storyline and a message inside about loving yourself before Prince Charming. While the girls wished on their magic necklace they truly had the magic inside them already.

I won an e-book edition of this book written by Amber Daulton through her giveaway on LibraryThing recently and the following in my honest opinion.

This story is an updated version of the old folk tale which practically very young girl has read as a child and since that day has dreamt of finding someone who would become her own Prince Charming. Have you ever have this dream?

In her book, Annalise Gallagher is Cinderella and Elijah Burleigh is her Prince Charming. But unlike her who was beautiful, but wore rags; Annalise had beautiful clothes looks quite ordinary.

One night Annalise and her three girlfriends find a magical locket and each make the same wish to look extremely beautiful and wake up the next morning, their wishes fulfilled. However, the magic will only last for 24 hours, midnight to midnight.

When she wakes up Annalise and sees her wish has been granted, goes to him and is totally surprised when he invites her to be his guest at his friendâs wedding later that evening. When she meets him later sheâs dressed in a haute couture gown straight from Paris, vowing to make the most of the time she has left to be with him.

But with no Fairy Grandmother around her appearance back to the way her Prince had seen her the previously night, what will happen Annalise awakes and Elijah sees her the way she normally looks like? As I read this book the authorâs writing has been such that at times I felt as if Iâd been a shadow watching whatâs transpiring in front of me, which is why Iâm giving this book FIVE STARS.

Although I love this author

Although I love this author, this book kind of fall a little bit short from the other books I have read from her. It's okay, but I really did not enjoy the book that much but I took a chance because of the author and because it is about superheroes.

A series in the making!

Book three in the âTwisted Family Holidaysâ series, The Seers: Love and Terror on the Fourth of July, does not disappoint. In fact, it may be the strongest yet, which is saying a lot, and could easily be turned into a series of its ownâin any media format.

Jess, the familyâs patriarch, is taking his family on a trip to Las Vegas for their annual Fourth of July reunion and celebration with family. This trip, however, is unlike any other. Traveling through monsoonal desert-storms the family comes upon a patch of wild lightning. When the youngest, Jade, reaches out the window, she is hit by lightning. Jess simultaneously grabs Jade and tries to bring her back in the car, causing him to become a causality as well. The two, unknowingly, become Seers of other peopleâs futures. What happens next is well worth any price of admission. I urge all reading this to check out The Seers: Love and Terror on the Fourth of July.

Gave Me Goosebumps

Every now and then, a book comes along that gives me goosebumps. JR Wirth has done that twice now, first with Good Friday, and now with the Fourth of July. Concise, riveting, with great characters, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loved the Twilight Zone.

I enjoyed this story. It was easy to read and well-written though I thought the ending could have been a bit less rushed.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ANGELS OF AFFECTION!

I absolutely loved Forgiven. The next assignment for Liam and Adela takes them to snowy Lake Tahoe. They are told a third angel will join them. They have developed a rapport with each other and neither is happy about another angel being around. Liam is developing feelings for Adela but he pushes her away because of his past. Even though he doesn't feel he can be with her he is extremely jealous of the new angel in the group. Adela is having trouble adjusting to Earth's current society. Tragedy ensues and Liam has to make a decision quickly. How will Adela handle it when she finds out what Liam has done? It's a must read to get the answer.

Even better than the first!

I loved the second book in the angels of affection series even more than I did the first! This time, Liam and Adela take center stage as their story continues. Liam is sexy as ever, in a broken kind of way and more than any other part of this book, I loved watching him get put back together. There were some heartbreaking moments involving his past that really tugged on the hot strings, as well as some hot sexual tension between him and Adela that fairly sizzled. Adding a third angel into the mix, Gunnar was a nice addition and I found myself laughing out loud at him several times throughout this book. I would love to read more about him, and am hoping for a 3rd book, because the Viking is a very interesting character. There were some huge twists in this one that had me racing to the finish, as I had to know how the happy ending was going to come from all this. It totally worked out, and in the end I was grinning like an idiot. Damn that Liam for being so sexy, he made me love him even more in this book (even if he did act like an ass for some parts. He's been forgiven). Also, this book has another slight nod to Carly Fall's other series, the Six Saviors, which will have her fans smiling with glee.

I loved this so much!

In Forgiven, Liam and Adela are back in their roles of Angels of Affection and this assignment brings them to a secluded cabin in the winter at Lake Tahoe. Their assignment this time seems pretty much cut and dried; they only seem to have one couple living next door who have a very volatile relationship. Along with a surprise third party added to their team, the reluctant Angels of Affection must find a way to bring more love to the world and try to avoid letting hate and evil win.

An Excellent Debut Worthy of Attention

Archer of the Lake is a fun, fast-paced adventure where high fantasy meets romance in the best ways possible. The world of Ariang'ron was at once believable and interesting; the cultures within *felt* right, and I immediately wanted to explore them. Likewise the characters felt fully developed and easy to picture. I found their voices and saw their faces without trouble, distinguishing them from each other despite their classic Elven names.

I admit I raised an eyebrow early in the story at Caelfel's determination to like "the most hated elf in Honey Water." It was clear from the beginning that Feraan was meant to be the love interest, and I worried that Michaels intended to force Caelfel into love whatever the cost to character development. Happily, it soon became clear that such was Caelfel's nature; her temper is as quick to abate as it is to rise in the first place. Her determination to see the best in the people around her colors her perception of the whole situation nicely. I knew Michaels had sold me with her character development when I found myself fussing at Caelfel for being so willfully naive. Out loud.

The story wrapped at a satisfying stopping point, but Michaels has left plenty of room for more, and I eagerly await the next installment of the series. Like most first editions, there are a handful of typographical errors which one might take note of...but the story itself is top notch. I highly recommend it!

Enjoyable and easy to read

I wasnât sure at first, but The Archer of the Lake soon pulled me in. It was thoroughly enjoyable and easy to read, perfect for a rainy Sunday. It has a wonderful set of characters and I certainly hope we havenât seen the last of Feraan. The story took me along with it, fast paced, with enough detail of the immediate situations to draw a picture of this Elven world and beyond, but not so much to slow the pace.

The book in itself is well resolved, but I canât but feel there are many more stories waiting to come from this world - the characters and scene are set for so much more; my mind is certainly wondering where things will go from here for all the various characters - even some not-so-central figures that have been introduced deserve more stories (Macha, please!)...

This book feels so young and passionate. Listeners become dazed by Angel Clark's voice as they learn about the intense supernatural world that Riley lives in. The plot is rich with new and exciting information that makes listening feel like a treat!

Riley Stone is a Necromancer. He has a fearsome reputation amongst the Demon population. Paige Matthews is a regular young woman who knows nothing about demons and who, like most of the population does not believe in the supernatural.

Calamata Island is a declared demon-free zone and is under the protection of the Archangel Benjamin. So, when Paige is attacked on Calamata Island by what she sees as a shadow with fiery eyes and is saved by Riley, she has no idea what is happening.

Riley is perplexed as well. Why would a Demon risk Benjamin's wrath just to attack a normal human?

This is the first audiobook in a series and ends with no resolution at all which I found frustrating. Of course, it ended with a cliffhanger which will make listeners want to purchase the next audiobook in the series to find out what happens next.

The cliffhanger ending is a terrific marketing strategy, but is frustrating for audiobook listeners. However, in author, Ivy Sinclair's defence, it is obvious that this book is only part of a series since the title is " PROTECT HER: Part One".

The characters of Riley Stone and Paige Matthews are only beginning to discover who they are in this book. I am sure that they will develop further over the course of the next ten episodes.

Generic Superhero Romance

On a Superhero Romance reading binge and ran across this series; the first two didn't stand out in the 10% teaser Amazon provides, but the reviews said this one is good as a stand-alone and sounded the best of the three.

Totally generic Superhero Erotica, and unfortunately I don't mean that in a good way. It was so generic as a Superhero prose and as an Erotica as to be completely unmemorable and unchallenging.

Of all sci-fi/fantasy type stories, Superhero prose is one of the easiest for world-building, but Ms. Royce did not even try. The superheros are one family, maybe others in the company, and they fly and have superstrength and need to be careful with their women. Only the slightest variations in powers between the brothers and they basically fight monsters from one organization ... "off-screen" except for the final battle which feels like it lasts all of three pages.

And for the erotica, the first get together is so inappropriate that it made me cringe. One does not stop to have sex delaying rescue of loved ones WHO ARE DYING and you know they are dying. Maybe if the scene was moved directly in front of the discovery of needing to go to rescue, but not after ... even if you think this may be your last chance with the hottest babe/bod in existence. Anyone who is that selfish is not someone I can identify with or want to be around.

Oh and the erotica situations do not meet my personal definition of the difference between erotica and porn. Does it move the romance/story forward in a significant way? If the sex did not happen, would the story change? In this case, no, the story would not have changed.

So generic romance, generic erotic situation, generic worldbuilding, generic superheros. May as well have been a store brand bought at Wally-mart.

Amazing end to a fantastic series!

I love this entire series but Last Ascension is my favorite. It can be read alone but by reading the series I think you get a deeper appreciation for the world Ms. Royce created. It's everything I love about super heroes and the super villains they face.

A Mystery Uncovered

With this novel I was so glad to be able to return to this series starring some wonderful fellows this author has had us meet. The humor that is instilled into the characters are just one of many reasons love this series.
